But now my manager has initiated H1B visa for me and the visa process is in progress.

Also don’t expect to apply to these top tech PM roles and start getting interviews - best bet is to either getting into tech in a product facing role or go somewhere directly as a PM and then use that experience to break tech PM
I applied to only Amazon and got an offer last week for a Sr PM role. Shoot for the stars, Op. (But would be highly dependent on how your frame your experiences and resume)

As you get tips, be sure they're applicable for your background. A consultant who has a masters in computer science, 5yoe as a software engineer, MBA and a few years of consulting breaking into product management is not in the same situation as a business major with 0 swe experience, no MBA, and 5 years of mostly unrelated tech consulting work.
If your situation is more like the former, great. If the latter, you have a bigger hurdle to overcome.
Its difficult, but doable! I would literally transform your CV to the point where it looks like you’ve been doing Product Management for a while. If you did PM type work, put your title as PM and make all your bullet points related to PM.
2 yrs in IT Services as software engineer, 1 year in Big 4 Tech Consulting and a Masters in Engineering Management (ongoing) at top school (Duke/Cornell)
Any tips for an international looking to break into big tech, PM
