Any in-house counsel in here willing to post their company, level or YOE, and total comp breakdown? If you’re comfortable, please consider posting both your current stats and what your stats were when you first moved in-house. If there’s any other information that you want to share, please include that too (e.g., hours, interesting perks, etc.). Info on in-house salaries is pretty hard to come by, and it would be great to compile some data points here! Facebook Amazon Google Netflix Apple

No experience with this but decide beforehand what you will do with the info. Say you find out he makes 5k more, 10k more, 20k more etc, what if he makes less? - what are you prepared to do?
Equal pay or pay equity? Not every person in the same job/level/title has the same level of experience, subject matter expertise, critical skills, etc. That said, I have never asked a male or female counterpart for their salary information. Because I would never go to HR or company leaders and say “Dave makes $20k more than I do and that’s unfair.” That will get you nowhere. I HAVE asked for an equity review from my direct manager and HR.
Done this twice and discrepancy has been never been less than 40k so yeah… hopefully that’s not the case for you
Yup. Found out a peer was making $20k more than me
How did you ask? Was it awkward? Were they cool with sharing?

One way I ask people is to under and over. Eventually they just get there themselves. Something like ”I was wondering if you’d be willing to share your salary information with me in order to determine if we are being paid equally.“ I’m super transparent but obviously some people are uncomfortable so under / over is quite a bit more vague. I would choose someone you have a light but positive relationship with. I’ve done this with 4 coworkers in the past and yes they were all making more than me. It’s one thing to look at Glassdoor but it’s not the context you need.
I did and found out he was making $30k more than me. Definitely a conversation worth having.
Yes. I said "hey I make x amount. How much do you make?"
