Has anyone tried Keto and Intermittent fasting? Not sure how it would work to get your body in ketosis but fast at the same time.. and is doing Keto bad for your cholesterol?

IF is actually easier (to me) on a ketogenic diet because I find I stay fuller longer when eating keto.

There’s inconsistent scientific evidence to support whether low carb, high fat diets are bad for your cholesterol. Plenty of people have shown gains in HDL and reductions in LDL. It’s just important to eat healthier fats on the diet.

I do IF but not exactly keto. I do restrict carbs but I am not as restrictive as keto. I’ve lost a good amount of work and it seems very manageable. Would certainly recommend

Yes, Keto is bad for Cholesterol so I stopped it. There are multiple ways to get into Ketosis. You can keep same low carb amount 20g NET (carbs-fiber=net) and instead of fat, consume high protein. I’ve been doing this high protein/low carb/low fat diet with my doctor for 5 weeks, 14 lbs loss so far. If you are in a calorie deficit whether through nutrition/exercise, you don’t have to fast. You can do the bare minimum and fast 12 hours, so if you finish dinner at 8, you have breakfast next day at 8am (that’s 12 hrs, or you can extend the fast until you’re hungry). I am in ketosis and test it weekly, it helped me lose many inches, more than the 14 lbs the scale shows.

Okay, I have a new problem and need help. So thank you to all those who provided app recommendations to me in the past. Right now, I’m using my fitness pal to track food intake. I’ve significantly changed my diet the past 2 weeks. The amount of food I need to consume to hit the calorie intake is mind blowing. I’m doing intermittent fasting too. I feel very full trying to hit 1600 calories in 8 hours. It’s even more when working out according to the app. What do you recommend? Eat less?
