This is a simpler version of whole foods diet no?
The only “diet” that works is caloric deficit. No matter what you do, you can’t escape the laws of thermodynamics. Period. If this “diet” means you will eat less calories than you burn, it will work. If it means you will eat more, it won’t work. We over complicate “dieting” a lot. Now, to be clear, dieting vs nutrient density are very different things. Eating whole food promotes nutrient dense eating (more vitamins per bite!) Which is separately a very good thing and may help you to feel fuller in less food (thereby achieving “dieting” results of weight loss, if that is what you are after).
Hahahaha I don’t reply to most posts in this bowl, but it always surprises me how many people seem to lack an understanding of basic calories in / calories out logic for weight loss. There’s no outrunning physics!
It’s generally healthier to eat whole food vs. processed foods. I wouldn’t call it a diet, unless you’re saying you can only have one single ingredient food at a time, which is strange…
I think you can combine the whole ingredients into a meal. Like say chicken, salt, pepper, oil
But doesn’t it really not matter as long as you’re getting nutrients and not over doing calorie intake? In your case of replacing fat with tomatoes, many people don’t respond well to tomatoes or other nightshades. This is especially true if your tomato sauce is store bought and has a long shelf life. Likely, oil in a low quantity would be more “healthy” than that.
I mean you basically are talking whole 30?
Even my dog eats better than this

If you’re trying to be healthy a whole foods diet is best. Cut out anything processed (especially oil, sugar, etc.). You can refine that further by cutting out a lot of different meats that aren’t good for you or eliminating meat and dairy entirely.

Source on “incredibly healthy”? Certainly better than refined oils but it really should be a minimal part of any diet. Oil in general can have a negative effect on health and weight.
Certain meats should be omitted entirely and are overly processed and proven to be carcinogenic. I’m not a vegan but I try to minimize red meat and processed meats. I’ll still have a rare steak from time to time though.
Been eating single ingredient since Monday. Last night I had my first night sleep where I slept through the night in months. Perhaps it’s a coincidence but I’m going to keep going
Nice!!! Good luck!!
I think it’s maybe a bit more difficult to get flavor but you can use herbs and onions. And I suppose if you check the ingredients on spices they may be okay.
When you ask does it work… does it work for what exactly?
I mean does it make you healthier? Lighter, feel better, sleep better, etc

OP, by lighter do you mean lose weight? You don't have to eat only 1 ingredient foods to lose weight. You just need to be in a calorie deficit.
Keto, IF, OMAD, high carb, low fat, Whole 30, etc. will only lead to weight loss if you're in a calorie deficit.
Yeah this is definitely a great way to go. I just avoid processed foods in general.
Just 1 ingredient away from an eating disorder... I like it.
