Some of you folks need to be less judgmental of other people’s medications. Just because you can get by just fine doesn’t mean that the same can be said for everybody. My medications have significantly improved my life.
Don’t be a quitter
1) Perseverance. Depending on your daily intake, you’re probably almost there. I’m at normal within two weeks. Cycle off during off season. Busy season I only take sometimes if needed, some seasons I skip and enjoy my normal not socially awkward self. Then I take it and I’m all weird again.
2) Taper. Day 1, smaller dose, day 2, even smaller, etc. Doc can help you obtain the right pills to do this.
probably take a vacation to ease off the withdrawal.....maybe see a doctor?
I did.. she recommended to decrease the dosage but I really don’t want to rely on medication for focus, even though I really do have ADD.
You need to find a better way to cope. I have been doing this 15 plus years, exercise, CBD, don’t take this so serious, you will look back with regrets of you need drugs to do your job
harsh, and coming from director level. some people genuinely need the assistance because of the way their brain functions. there is no need to shame someone for it.
I guess this depends. Do you have ADD/ADHD? If so, you should probably talk to your doctor about getting off of medication. They can potentially make better suggestions than strangers. If you're just addicted to it from taking it to focus, try weaning off my drinking more coffee in the short term then work towards getting better rest and staying hydrated.
Yes I do. I’m trying to workout/eat healthier so I don’t have that dependency but it’s been difficult. I guess I’ll just keep trying harder and see how it goes. I asked here because I know a lot of my colleagues take similar medication and didn’t know if anyone decided to stop even though they do have ADD.
I have ADHD also. I got off of concerts and onto straterra, a non-stimulant, and i LOVE it!! Highly recommended. Definitely see a psychiatrist. They will probably taper you off the adderall. For me they gave me 5mg to take as needed to help with the withdrawal symptoms. That part was rough but I am so much happier and less anxious on straterra than I was on concerta!
What does it do to your personality?
Lol-that is what I feel like I do when I don’t take it.
Have you tried different meds? Vyvanse is expensive, but I feel like it keeps me very level, definitely helps my focus, and am able to actually do a single thing at a time and finish it.
You should try nootropics. I personally use Gorilla Mind Rush and find it fantastic. Great adderall alternative.
I don’t see why doctors prescribe anything bedsides vyvanse
Vyvanse made my heart race when I was first starting it. Plus, my insurance doesn’t cover it so I have to pay out of pocket while I wait for them to process my pre-approval
CBD helped me a lot. Also consider getting a MMJ rec card if legal in your state. I typically take a 1:1 (CBD/THC) which helps me focus without all of the negative physiological affects.
