Hi nyc boys 😏
The devil you know is better than the angel you don’t! dream job don’t mean perfect job or good job. I know lots of people who got their dream job and regretted it. All was not fun and daisy. For a lateral movement with less pay. I’d advise you stay where you are. Another opportunity at the dream job will come by
Makes sense . I was thinking the same especially in the climate we’re in with costs going up
I haven't been in a situation like this, at least not exactly.
I would stay where you are because:
1. You are happy and comfortable where you are, if you weren't then it would be a no-brainer. You never know how the other team/culture/WLB would be,
2. I'm assuming you can potentially grow where you are and you don't know how the other place will be, especially in this economy,
3. Comp (maybe doesn't matter as much if, say, thats a 20ish percent difference.
I don't think being stagnant is good either. You can apply for other, much more appealing and long shot opportunities too
Thanks for your feedback! And yes on 2- I’ve been told there’s plenty of runway for my career here. So it may be best to stay put
