I'm a PhD student (graduating next year) looking to pursue consulting (ideally at MBB or Big 4). I would love to learn about full-time opportunities in New York starting 2023

Grew up in MBB. Hit the bamboo ceiling right at PPMD election (almost exactly 5 years ago). Went into industry at one of my clients. Now a C-suite officer. AMA.

People who make 250K+ - do you still feel like you need / want more? Do you have a number in mind that you think is enough? Do you think you will need more when you reach it?

Which business schools are worth it for people who are already at MBB? Trying to assess the value prop of say Booth or Kellogg or Sloan vs. HSW

My manager has a must respond to my emails within 2 hours rule. Sometimes she sends them at 8pm. 3 of my team associates decided to reported her to HR for it. These new hires have no chill anymore in this economy.

If you are already a consultant, what are your actual post-MBA goal? Upgrade to MBB? Lateral over to IB for more work and more pay? FAANG for the RSUs? Those are the three paths I’ve identified where the business case holds water. Startups seem great but where’s the payoff?

Is the BCG Knowledge team equivalent to Offshore consulting / GBS teams or is it a back-end Knowledge team. Employees seem to suggest that they do consulting work as well. This team has sectoral specializations unlike the flagship model. Unbiased insights? I am currently in Big4 consulting and want to break into MBB. I also know switching tracks does not happen since I had an offer from McK Implementation and turned it down after speaking with many employees there. Also, the track is super slow.

Help me fill in the blanks: M7 MBA = MBB + Big 4 HBS = McKinsey Wharton = Bain Stanford = ??? Kellogg = Deloitte Sloan = ??? Columbia = ??? Booth = ???

Does anyone here regret joining MBB? If so, why?

Do not mean this as a satire. Genuinely curious. How does the prestige in industry works for management consulting? I am thinking 1. MBB 2. Deloitte and Strategy& 3. Big 3/OW/BAH/ZS Correct?

Is strategy consulting (even MBB) losing it's charm nowadays with the world moving more towards implementation projects and better opportunities available outside which have good pay as well as better WLB? Something like what happened with IB roles which were all the rage in B Schools few years back but now have tapered off a lot.

Hi Guys. Need help evaluating two offers: 1. McKinsey - Associate in Risk Consulting - $165K base/30K sign-on. NYC/Chicago. 2. Facebook - Program Manager in Security and Privacy - $160K base/$100K RSUs over 4 years/$20K sign-on. Bay Area I have 6 YOE at Deloitte in Cyber since graduating college. Has always been a desire to work at McK but don’t plan to stay in Consulting long term. Was all set to join McK until this offer came along. Any advice on what factors I need to consider?

What is the Solutions Delivery Senior Analyst role like in the Sales and Marketing Solutions Practice at McKinsey? It seems to be focused on employing Periscope for client projects, a proprietary tool that McK uses for revenue growth. What exit opportunities can one expect outside of McK after a few years in this practice/role? McKinsey & Company
