Yes…just the other day. Money

Yes, not official offer, but invitations to join the process even from partners. Mainly, wlb and a downgrade in current role, plus i dont want to do consulting anymore so looking for something else.
Yes sir. Ain’t falling in that primary search/summarize/prepare read out trap. Moved to industry where I now use and grill MBB partners
Yes. WLB mainly. After that, I got way more at my current job by using the McKinsey offer.

More money or just equivalent? I’m deciding now between MBB and a tech exit at equivalent comp.
M2 I agree with you; that’s the worst part. If wfh has been more sustainable and is still rough, what’s it going to be like when we inevitably go back to travel and everyone is expecting wfh productivity while we waste a day a week in transit?
As a general estimate what is the total comp offered by MBB in HCOL for 3 YOE in a strategy role w/o MBA?

Can’t speak to that since i have an mba and more like 10 years. It was about 30% higher than Accenture and on par with a director level tech exit i was offered (maybe 15k differential assuming 100% of target bonuses for both).
Yes. Comp wasn't worth the long work weeks

I pulled myself out of the interview process with McK and didn’t proceed further. They approached me with a potential role but it would have been 5-7 case interviews and I just didn’t want to go through the stress and process when I was only half interested in joining. It also would have been a step down in title (P manager to M associate) and I worked really hard for the M promo.

A few months ago, that’s what the recruiter told me
Just turned down a MBB offer for a boutique - it got down to partner pipeline timing and chance
Yes, money 😂
You also need to consider the challenges of lateraling into an MBB at a higher level than the UG or MBA entry points. I'd say go tech

Yea I’m concerned about this. I’ve heard like 50% of EMs get pushed out and I’d be starting without knowing the culture or having connections.
