Has anyone used a career/life coach? I am feeling really lost in my career journey but I don’t feel like audit is where I should be. I have no interest in learning guidance and the purpose of what I am doing, I am just doing it so it gets done. Any advice?

I’d be curious to how much something like that costs

It could be worth it. People seek out therapists because they want to understand their emotions better. Career coaches can help you understand what you want to do too.

I’ve worked with a coach twice, the first time more for the situation you’re describing (ie., more broadly trying to figure out the next step in my career after generally feeling bored / burned out / unfulfilled). I would recommend checking out coaching platforms - there are a few good new ones out that are great at finding a personalized match for a good coach for you and also a lot more affordable. Another comment mentioning $200+ per hour is very normal for independent coaches and some other services… which is too much IMO unless you’re really an executive. The platform I’m using now is $45-$75 per month depending on # sessions per month

I haven't done it but it does sound intriguing. If you know of one and can pay for it, go for it. If you don't like it, no big deal.

I’ve used a career coach. It was $200/hr. HCOL city thojgh and worth it.

I have an ex-colleague that became a career coach and she is very passionate about it and has the adequate B4 experience to know how to guide those in the accounting field, so there are definitely niche career coaches out there as well. Give it a shot!

How and where to find a career coach?

I see ads for them on LinkedIn pretty consistently, if you have trouble I can give you my colleagues info - been a while so not sure if she is still accepting new clients.

If your interested in support DM me and I'd be happy to have a complimentary session so you can see how I work with and support people! My background is in Audit, left KPMG as a senior manager and have support many who feel the way you do about the industry into finding what is best for them! DM me if you'd like more support!

I have a boss that always canceled meetings with me including performance reviews. I’ve been trying to get on his calendar to let him know I’m leaving but just getting more of the same. Anyone have any book recommendations for real estate investing? There’s a lot of crap out there. Looking for a more serious book for someone who already understands finance and real estate basics.
