Has anyone used AA miles to book a flight to India? Planning to go to chennai this winter for H1 stamping. Any suggestions or advice in terms of travel dates/ airline/stops is welcome.

Your options are probably:
BA connecting in London (good India network, high fuel surcharges)
AY connecting in Helsinki (only to Delhi I think)
CX connecting in Hong Kong (good India network, reasonable surcharges)
QR connecting in Doha (good India network, never redeemed on them so Idk what surcharges are like)

Not sure what availability looks like these days, but it's always best to be flexible on dates and routings, especially if you're looking at premium cabin awards.

Yup all correct. BA surcharges are particularly high and annoying. QR availably for me always a pain. May have Better luck calling in

I agree with above suggestions and the surcharges for QR isn’t that bad. Calling AA directly will help you book Etihad flights as well.

Don’t use it for flights via Europe, you will still pay good amount of taxes... Ethiad or Qatar best choices

I need to make a decision by tomorrow:
Current base salary: $55k
Current bonus: 10.5% (~$5k)
Vacation: 2 weeks
*been with company for 4 years. Started as a product data analyst out of school.

New offer base salary: $90k
Bonus: 12% (~11k)
Vacation: 3 weeks

Counter offer: $80k
Bonus: 14% (~11k)
Vacation: 3 weeks

The new offer would require significantly more travel. I have a young family and value time at home. My heart is telling my to take the counter offer from my company.

Serious question - is there a reverse FIRE strategy? I like the idea of saving and retiring early, but the one hiccup I see (and sorry if this is grim) is if you die earlier than expected. I’d be worried that I would minimize lifestyle and fun for retirement at 50 but I’d die at 49. How about a way to work 9 months out of the year and retire/travel/relax for 3 months? This way you guaranteed your dreams/etc. are fulfilled

I always travel with my Louis Vuitton Keepall 55 bandoulière as a carry on, with mainly my shoes and handbags in it - but i took her in to LV for a repair and due to supply issues she will sadly not be back in time for my trip to Italy in September. (The repair may take 10 months, WTF!) I would appreciate any recommendations, and would love for it to be similar in size to the Keepall 55.

Kind of niche question here but under NY CPLR, if a plaintiff files a MTD/MSJ, and then the defendants file opposition papers containing information that the court had previously ordered to be kept under seal, would you a) file a reply asking to seal/strike the opposition papers or b) file a separate OTSC since you’re now seeking additional relief not sought in the original motion?

PERM question.

Hi everyone I work at EY and have 3 YOE. EY started the perm process after 2.5 years, the role is for manager. It is standard that managers have 5 years of experience, does this mean that the green card will only be available in 2 years from now when you typically make manager (maybe 1 if early promoted)? From my understanding I have another 6 months with the PWD, Recruitment and then filing items, so it will be ready relatively soon. Just trying to make heads or tails of it.
