Has anyone used Cultural Care Au pair through Accenture? Any thoughts, concerns, lessons learned?

We liked cultural care during the searching process but went with aupaircare in dc because we liked one of the women from there most & the au pair matters most

Yes but to clarify, it’s not “through Accenture.” It’s a private agency and we get a slight discount for working at Accenture. In my opinion, all agencies kinda suck, but cultural care has the most au pairs.

Makes sense. We’re at a spot where daycare is 1400+, most are around 2k. A nanny at $15 an hour is ~2500 a month and that rate is getting us someone who isn’t the most experienced and is kind of flaky. Cultural care is definitely the better value from an investment standpoint

To all the post-9/11 veterans, it’s a somber day that unites us all in the reason we fought. It’s easy to forget - especially with the younger generation having 9/11 be a history lesson rather than something they lived through. The waters became muddy with two wars and politicians, but you all stepped up and did your duty. Thank you all for your service, it’s an honor whether we crossed paths or not.

Is anyone’s school system taking any of the lessons learned since last March about education and changing how they do business? Our county is reverting to the pre-pandemic factory model of education. I thought we might have some significant changes in education, but sadly it is business as usual- 7 classes of 25-35 students a day.

Well it’s been heck of a week. Rejected from two start ups, but I guess after enough rejection, I just don’t feel for it anymore. Could be a good or a bad thing. Lesson learned though, I have been chasing payout of joining rather than sitting down and figuring out what I like to do and then focusing on opportunities in that area. This clearly isn’t a winning strategy, but I also haven’t been able to figure out what I like to do. Good luck out there peeps!

How do you reckon a couple manage expense and savings when they get married - as in if I were earning 150k and my husband 100k should we both contribute like 2000$ toward monthly expenses each and 1000$ toward common goals and have a personal savings on the side? What are some best practices and lessons learned that you all can share, any help is deeply appreciated. I am very nervous about finances post wedding.

Thought I'd share this for inspiration. I was eating right and working out for the past few weeks and my weight on the scale was not budging which in turn was demotivating me. Yesterday was my first rest day and cheat day. I also slept a full 8 hrs. This morning I stepped on the scale and voila! Down 6 lbs. This has motivated me to keep pushing. Another 15 lbs to my target. lesson learned - Trust the process!

Today is my first day back at work (and first full day back in my physical office) after a few weeks off for parental leave. Needless to say, I am struggling to stay focused on anything other than wanting to go back home to my spouse and child.
