Has anyone used Epona (dmsforlegal) before? Thoughts?

Consistently billing 190-200 hours per month but being told it's not enough. Firm average is about 165 but my group expects more of us. Anyone have tips for billing more/more efficiently? 200 feels like a struggle- not sure how people hit 250+. 2nd year lit associate if that helps!

Any chance we can start a mentoring program for aspiring PMs?

My billable hours bonus requirement/target is 1900. Unless I pull a 300 hour month in December, I won’t be hitting that. The reason being is that in June, I had a parent pass which required me to travel overseas to take care of arrangements. I also had another family emergency in October that also required me to travel overseas. Do you guys think the firm will take this into consideration?

How do you guys manage to work-out as big law associates “on call” 24/7? I used to work out religiously but ever since I started practicing, I can’t get myself to get back. Anyone care to share routines and what works for them?

Out of the blue I'm getting advertised the reMarkable 2 paper-like tablet all over the place. Has anyone else used something like this as a replacement for legal pads (currently have like 12 on my tiny home office desk)? Is it worth it?

Left my old firm on good terms but as time has passed and with therapy have realized how toxic it was. Just read that they were disqualified from a big case they were probably very excited to get due to a conflict of interest issue. Trying not to feel too much schadenfreude. That’s all.

How do you tow the fine line between sticking up for yourself and not talking back to a partner? For context, our firm has seemingly started making a paper trail for layoffs and I disagree with some of the emails that I have received. I want to respond in a way that covers my own ass. Billing question/firm expanded too fast.

Fifth year here. Started at new firm 6 months ago, and they hired 4 people for 2 empty spots (they are expanding). 1800 billing requirement is enforced but there are just days where I'm not busy/billing. I've emailed and gone door to door for work, but I think they expanded too fast and concerned about not hitting minimums. Any advice/similar stories?

Currently at an AmLaw 200 firm. 3rd year with comp of $190k. Really like the mentorship and the kind of deals so far. No complaints. But then just had an interview at an AmLaw 100 firm that pays market. The base pay difference is at least $60k. Based from interview and this bowl, second firm has good WLB and just overall a good firm. Would you move? I feel terrible just thinking about providing notice to my current firm….

What to do when you don't have any work to do for the past 2 weeks? Not a performance/relationship issue. Tried to ask for work but nothing comes up.
