Has anyone used Gideon Strategic Partner for investing? What was your experience?

Has anyone here committed to a partner who has significant debt? My partner of over a year has >$300K in debt from med school. She has since quit medicine, due to a toxic culture that sounds worse than biglaw. In the last year she started earning enough to refinance her loans into a 10-year horizon. I am fortunate to be debt free and am saving aggressively with the aim of making a down payment on a NYC apartment in the next 5 years. We would like to get married before owning property (cont)

Anybody know any good books/sources on couples finance or balancing financial mentalities? I have a personal finance mentality or character that is save as much as possible, spend as little on myself as possible, spend mainly on things that could appreciate in value. Whereas my gf is all about treating oneself, and living very comfortably, even if it is not sustainable. It doesn't help as well that I make 3-4x what she makes. Its hard to balance these two mentalities

Newbie investor asked me a question, they have $5k to invest and were wondering if they should put it in an index fund (S&P500 - which is what I’d normally recommend plus DCA thereafter) or if they should buy AMZN given that it is well off of its highs, is a solid company and would, in 12-18 months, likely grow faster than the S&P, as interest rates normalize over that time period, etc. That got me thinking… so I’m asking all of you, what would you do/recommend?

How many of you were direct admits to Partnership? From other consulting firms, or from industry? Was it a lateral move, or a step up/down?

The reason I ask is: I’m a Y3 Director at Big 4, always been a consultant and probably 2 years away from Partner. I have an offer from industry for VP at a F50 company, but am wondering about how difficult it’d be to boomerang back if it doesn’t work out.
