As a parent, do you prioritize making career choices that are “safe” but not inspiring, or do you prioritize making the choices that are less safe but help you realize your full potential? Relatives on dad’s side are super toxic. My dad consistently asks me to visit them and his mom on that side but I haven’t for a year now since the pandemic. I keep making excuses to not attend their family events (where if I do attend I’m just ignored)…what should I do? My dad gets so hurt and angry when I tell him I don’t want to visit. Just curious on other people's opinions here. Quick background: I've been working 2 years at UHY as an audit associate and 1 as a PWC associate.

I've lost motivation, mainly due to the fact I'm working as the manager and senior on 1 client and the senior on 6 other clients since last June. Obviously, still getting paid as an associate. While working 80-90 hours, I now make less than my roommate who doesn't have a degree and works between 35-38 hours a week. Should I start looking for a new job?
