My law school has terrible career center. Utterly useless. I would trust a real recruiter more than them

Please do not pay for those services. A quality recruiter will gladly help you

I agree with above point , never pay for these services .Making A nice resume is not a one day job . You have to write make it crisp . Revisit it again and modify to polish the language . My tips would be to make it quantitative with all the jobs you mention and make it short , crisp and precise . Everybody just takes a glance on resume . Nobody has time to read it all . So make it worth eye catching . (Just my two cents ) =)

With a space before and after the period.

I’ve had recruiters and the career center from my law school look at my resume. Career centers are usually open to helping alumni even if it’s been a while since you graduated.

Not working with recruiters but thanks for the advice.

Have other companies done similar? Obviously doesn't fully offset inflation but I'm glad to see the bank addressing the issue.

Otherwise they update the i94 with the valid to date of the h1b visa stamp which if you have transferred companies doesn’t reflect the accurate date (most transfers have some extension). Learned the hard way but the correction process is smooth at least in Chicago.

Additional Posts in In-House Counsel

I’m only a few weeks into the in-house world and I have to say that it kicks ass. I get to spend real time learning about how our business works without worrying about billable hours. I’m sure I’ll become more jaded as I go on (as lawyers do) but I want to take a moment to appreciate it.

[Legal Tech] Hi there. I practiced at a big law for a couple of years and now have been moved in-house with a focus on Legal Tech (dealing with platforms, social media - responsibilities, safe habour, Ts&Cs, e-money flow, etc) I really love the job now and finally find the path and passion. I do like working on legal tech matters a lots. Anyone on the same major? Please share your thoughts :) TIA

Since moving in house from PP I’ve been astounded at how often business folks want to set up a zoom call to walk through contracts and rewrite language on the fly. Not only is it terribly inefficient, it leaves virtually no time to actually think through things, especially when dealing with long, complicated contracts for things like software purchases. Just wondering if anyone has any good tips for how to politely point out to people how bad of a process that is, assuming others face the same?

Thoughts on when a contract is silent as to whether liability is uncapped? We typically cap liability at contract price, but this particular heavyweight co. wants TCs accepted as is. Their terms disclaim consequential damages but there’s no language at all about whether it’s capped or uncapped. If a K is silent as to this, is it implied that both parties have agreed to uncapped? Or does it go to reasonableness standard?

In-house counsel - would you prefer working at a big company specializing in a field of law, eg, privacy, IP, employment, etc, or a small company being a general counsel?
