Does group legal allow these services? I thought it was very limited in what they can do.
Yes. Per the website, benefit covers tickets, including representation including court hearings, negotiation with the prosecutor, and the trial. Does not cover DUI or vehicular homicide.
For refinance, the website states that the service covers review or preparation of all relevant documents such as refinance agreement, mortgage, and deed, and documents pertaining to title, insurance, recordation, and taxation. Also includes attendance of attorney at closing.
^for primary residence only.
I'm interested to know what type of representation you get. Let us know how it works out.
Just curious but why do you need a lawyer for refinancing? Doesn't the bank handle all of the paper work? I refinanced once and don't recall needing a lawyer - granted this was several years ago but I'm still curious.
^Good question, I am wondering myself if the lawyer adds any value to the process. Like maybe he can draft some of the paperwork that I'd otherwise have to pay for out of pocket? I was hoping someone who had used the services before could shed some light on whether their use of the lawyer provided any benefit.
If you buy a house from for sale by owner, does it cover the legal fees for that?
^I think it covers some of the fees but not all. I think you still need to pay for title insurance and some others.
Neat
I've used it when we bought our house (ok lawyer) and when our landlord refused to return our deposit (lawyer sent demand letter and deposit was returned).
