Has anyone went from a big 4 FDD advisory to Alvarez and Marsal ? Thinking of pursuing this as a exit opp but also have only been in my current role in FDD for less than a year. Is it to early to jump ship or should I try and stick it out?

Are there analytics consulting firms still hiring that work on longer term projects (i.e. 3-6 months)? I'm working in deal analytics and while I actually like consulting, I'm tired of constantly working on diligence projects, having 0 WLB, or being able to think deeply about problems my client has. I don't mind traveling, but would appreciate a firm that has some flexibility on where my home base is.

How difficult is it to get a job in a language you don't have experience in? I have 7 years of experience in PHP and the job market doesn't seem to have a lot of openings. Lots of Python and Java though. I've applied to a number of these roles and haven't even gotten a phone screen.

Hi fishes!.. I am a Test engineer in a mindtree pvt. ltd. Mindtree gives me the project of cisco which is based on the Networking(switch testing). I didn't have much experience in networking or I don't like the Networking testing. I have one year of experience in automation testing with Selenium java WebDriver, TestNG, cucumber bdd framework. I am comfortable in these things not in networking. I talked to my HR and Manger for changing the project but the didn't change.

My question is: if I move from audit to the lenders deal advisory, Is it pidgin holing me since this role is smaller in scope than FDD?
