Following. I am taking Harvard CoRE - did liberal arts with a science heavy courseload, but want to show more business/quant skills

I have a music degree. I did MBA math. Honestly, no clue if it helped. Felt like my GRE score was a bigger quant indicator. Got into M7s/T15s and didn’t have it hurt me in consulting recruiting.

I was a humanities major in, but still took calc 1 and stat college. I meant to do MBAMath, but didn’t prioritize it since my GMAT quant was in line/higher than that for most school averages. It was fine. Still got into M7 schools without MBAMath.

Yeah I got As. Ivy UG is good for your app with one minor call out that I hope your school isn’t known for grade inflation. If you have time/energy, after prioritizing your GMAT/GRE, specifically quant section, yes take a course/do mbaMath or core. But I think I high GmAT would eliminate concerns.

If you have a solid (>3,5) undergrad GPA but don't use quant on a regular basis and haven't taken a quant class (calc, stats, accounting) since HS then MBAMath is a good option to introduce you to the quant material you will be studying in business school. If you have a softer GPA from undergrad you might want to take a pre-MBA math course for which you get a real transcript with a letter grade. UCLA and UCB offer course online.

Is MBA Math something you actually put in your application/get a grade or certificate for is it just something you do before MBA program to give you a leg up during program?

I didn’t get a grade or certificate, but I did put it on my resume for applications. I don’t think it gave me a leg up in course work.

If your question is how to improve your application, I think the best thing is to get a high quant score on the GMAT.

Just do the GMAT and crush that. Rest is noise
