Feeling a little regret about accepting a job offer without negotiating. It’s my first time switching firms and I’m a BA with 4 YOE in DC area. Currently making 75K after promo, but new job is 90K. I was honestly quite elated at being paid 90k (context - before my promo I was only making 68K). But after discussing with others they keep saying I should’ve negotiated higher (100+). I was really excited about the job and new salary but tbh now I’m feeling a bit inadequate for not pushing back.

Hey! I work in tech (4YOE) and I switched to consulting (will be joining in Sep). Background for the question: I have a bonus system with my current employer that consists of 6-12% of my base depending on performance (I always got the maximum 12%).

I've also always wanted to work for the government in some capacity, and it's so hard to get in at a high level without Veteran or current federal employees preference.
