Has anyone worked with a temporary babysitter found online (not through nanny website) without a background check? She’s a temporary sitter for 3-4 weeks and will be paid in cash because she’ll make under the IRS limit for taxes. She sounded fine in her interview but I was looking on a short timeframe and didn’t check references or do a background check. She’s also an immigrant and doesn’t have an online footprint

There are a couple of companies I really want to get into. Would it be weird to apply to those when I started at new job a month ago? If they give me interview they would notice i have only been at new place a month right? Or i should wait at least half year.

WHY? Been waiting an hour for scheduled 1st round interview call, crickets.

After several reschedules, I was finally confirmed with the actual dial-in information ;) for two days 5 interviews. I did the first one with the hiring manager and someone shadowing him. Interviewers did not show up for the second two meetings on the schedule. Not sure what to do at this point. This is AWS. Folks are saying they went through the process pretty quickly. I feel like I already lost a huge amount of time getting the save the date and then taking time off from work.

Why on earth are these firms thinking with requiring technology consultants to handle invoicing, engagement creation, timesheet code creation, and other misc. financial tasks.
