Cognitive behavioral therapy, Klonopin, Mary Jane, Meditation, and consistent sleep (7hrs) night, and cardio exercise are the things I do to keep my head screwed on straight at work. Otherwise, I’d be a basket case.

OP, you need to balance the risk of being a stupid stoner with the risk of not trying this solution. ok, with weed, you might be a little slower if you imbibe often, even if you’re sober at work. without weed, you have panic attacks traveling to work. really, being a little worse at your job than you want to be is way better than not being able to do your job at all. try some wacky tobacky and feel free to DM with questions.
my recommendation is that you start with something more CBD oriented than THC oriented. like a doseist calm pen. i recommend leaving the THC for the weekend to start, so you know how it feels before using it during the week. when you do THC, try one during the day that is supposed to pick you up, and at night try one that is supposed to relax you. and just do your normal stuff (maybe don’t drive or exercise just starting out, but feel free to stay home and watch netflix, go out to a museum, EAT, whatever it is you usually do on the weekend)
My concern would be having to take it with you on a plane/to a state where medical marijuana is not legal

I think medical use are legal in all states? I might be wrong. And I think, again, TSA will be fine with medical license
No unfortunately medical pot isn’t legal in all States. Ridiculous given that alcohol is legal
