Hello everyone! Nice to meet you all. I have 6 years of experience across Deloitte & EY and currently studying for the GMAT. Targeting R2 LBS and R1 INSEAD (I’m based in London :) ). I’m currently 30 but very motivated to make a switch to MBB post business school. Should I be worried about my age? Do MBBs prefer younger candidates? More on my experience - working within the Consulting practice at D, doing Tech Transformation work. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all :)
How long does it usually take to hear back after MBB final round? I think this was off cycle for experienced hires and it’s been 7 working days - should I keep waiting or move on? TIA!
To those from MBB in Canada. Do any of your firms have sizeable Vancouver offices with Partners in BC?
What are my entry opportunities in MBB? I’ve done mostly tech consulting, project management and most recently M&A strategy & execution, non MBA (couldn’t afford one)
I would honestly pay fishbowl money if they would let me filter out all these dumb MBB(other firm) posts going on today
What is the best way to learn about different roles in FAANG? I was a MBB consultant in India. I am in the US now with a AI products company. I work well on the intersection of technology and business. I have conceptualised and deployed multiple enterprise products over the last 2 years. I am looking to move to a bigger organization now. However I don't want to get into corporate strategy roles. What are some other roles that could be a good fit for me?
What kind of training do MBB folks go through as a new hire? What kind of on-demand courses do you have access to for continued learning?
Is it common to switch from one MBB to other? Feeling kind of let down by the work I’m doing currently.
How is the financial services consulting different across MBB? In terms of service offerings, areas of focus, culture
How much room for negotiation is there on role level when moving to MBB as a lateral? Currently M2 at a boutique founded by ex-MBB partners. We often compete with MBB. Recruiters at each firm have steered me towards joining at Associate (M) /Consultant (BB) level which I believe is common practice for lateral moves. This would likely result in a small pay cut for me, even at A3/C3. All have suggested a 6-12 month window to Manager promotion is possible. Would appreciate some advice, thanks!
Any thoughts on Morning Brew as a workplace? Love their newsletter and podcasts. I am super keen about the space but I'm not sure if it's worth the pay cut from Manager level in MBB
Anyone who went from tech/product to MBB? How was the transition and did it work out as expected?
Currently have a good WLB with 30-40 hr weeks. Have an MBB interview scheduled. They’d probably give me only 20% bump as I’m already in top band. Is MBB worth the hype that I have to sacrifice my WLB?
Programs with full rides? 3.9 undergrad at Wharton, already at mbb, 780 gmat. Would like to go to bschool unsponsored on scholarship. Are there strong programs that offer full rides?
Does anyone here regret joining MBB? If so, why?
People at strategy shops (e.g., LEK, MBB): any precedent of people making a lateral move from other firms after 2-3 years? High performer but dealing with post-merger internal issues.
Anyone from MBB open to having a conversation with me? I’m a part-time MBA candidate and would like to get some advice on how to distinguish myself from my peers
MBB 🐠 is health strategy (general, not payer and provider) a priority or existing area at your firm? Are those sort of positions easy to come by? Always trying to keep my eyes open.
I need to find a job asap as I was let go and on a Visa. Any recommendations what firms to look at? Have exhausted my leads. M&A Tech is my background
Does anyone have any study tips or can suggest a helpful study tool for the HRCI SPHR exam? I used BenchPrepHR to help me prep and took a few practice test. I took my exam last week and unfortunately did not pass. Any tips would be helpful to help me prepare to retake in a few months.
New Account Director here. Had 2+ years of supervisor experience prior. Any tips as I transition to this new role? What key things make the positions different? Would love to hear from all disciplines
Do folks think 100K promotion for Bonvoy Amex/Chase will come around soon or should I just bite the bullet at 75K promo?
Any 🐠 out there drink apple cider vinegar for health reason? If yes, have you felt any benefit?
Looking for a new office chair at home. Any suggestions? Two key qualities: comfortable and adjustable Price is very flexible. Much rather pay more for a nicer chair than get a deal. Thanks!
This year my school is having us incorporated a “peace table/area” into our classroom for students. Anyone have any ideas of what I could put in my peace area? or have this in their classroom?

All clients need to explain conference call etiquette when WFH to their employees. So far I’ve heard people washing dishes, talking to their spouse and kids, making lunch, and playing with pets...
Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.
Hi I have a real question that is going to cause a lot of controversy but it gets me so upset every time this happens. In casting and director searching, the request is always “non-white and female if possible”. It’s like I get more ‘brownie points’ for the most diverse person I can find. I don’t remember the last time I posted a casting request and was allowed to ask for white applicants. Isn’t this reverse discrimination? This can’t be the answer to equality. Am I crazy or unfair??
Anyone else wake up some days and think, "how did I end up here?" I'm so thankful for our salaries and benefits, but being in finance really takes its toll sometimes
KPMG is providing $1000 non-taxable work from home payment to all employees hired before 3/15. Doesn’t make up for zero bonus but better than nothing. How does this compare to other firms? I heard PwC and EY are doing stuff too?
(Not that it matters for the time being, but...) What are people’s preferred airlines? I mostly fly United but may switch to American since I moved closer to a hub. Thoughts?
