Got laid off today for the first time. Any west coast GSDs or SDs looking for senior strategists to join their team, please comment below.
If you got a bad first performance review (actually bad, so figure a 1 or 2 out of 5, but no PIP and given the chance to improve, and also told it’s fine because first review), and you’re not getting fired over it, would you put a lot of effort into trying to move firms once you’re able to say you have a year of experience, or would you just try to improve your reputation at the firm you’re already at, since leaving after 1 year isn’t generally ideal?
Hi ladies of fishbowl. I got laid off today and I am trying to find sense in it - I was my agency’s most effective client partner and highest performer, and still I got cut. Any recommendations on what to do?
Was “separated” from my agency today along with other employees in a mass layoff via conference call. Any words of encouragement? It’s my first time being let go 😕
I've been unemployed for around 3 months. I got laid off and I can't really find anything. I've applied to over 100 positions in accounting, but with no luck. Am I doing something wrong?
How long til big4 start layoffs? No recurring rev & slow pipeline. They will hold people as long as possible primarily bc its “product” & expensive to hire & retrain but math will take over
Is industry slower or is it just me? I kind of want to get back into consulting and was at D before. Is it even worth coming back right now since the layoffs are happening?
Do you feel angry after getting fired especially if you can’t find a reason (I don’t call it a lay off)? It’s been a month but how do you tell yourself F it and move on?
silly question: now we're heading into a recession, anyone has any ideas which functions would get laid off first: planning, analytics, dig or data operations?
Thoughts on posting promotion updates on LinkedIn during this time? Being mindful of mass layoffs and the unemployment rate, do you think those who earn promotions should postpone posting the update?
If you know you’re about to get laid off could you do a leave of absence and get paid for 6 months while you look for a job? 🤔
Started my career in PA. Went to the industry last year. My whole team got laid off due to the current recession. Are big 4 still hiring? My background is in technical accounting and I have worked almost four years now. 🙏🙏
Anyone else beat themselves up over small mistakes at work. I’ll become obsessive about how stupid I am and how I think I’m going to get fired or never get promoted
TWF one of the partners you don’t work with tells you to start preparing your advisee for the news that they won’t be getting promoted to senior on time 😕
Someone I’ve know since childhood reached out to me last week. She has been struggling with serious health issues for a long time and has been put into hospice because she was denied treatment for so long due to COVID. I went and saw her and I don’t think I will ever be the same again. I’m shaking and I am just so lost. I don’t really know what I’m asking for I just need anything right now.
Have a $1k allowance for home office setup. Any suggestions for what to get? I think I have everything I need but don't want this to go to waste, only stipulation is that a purchase has to "make me more productive"
If you have a chance please rate SPG highly and Marriott poorly in the Freddie’s awards. I’m hoping Marriott will see the following behind SPG and strive to incorporate more SPG to stay competitive
How does your home office impact your ability to get staffed on projects due to different travel costs?
How to handle: I’m MD/partner level. Pitching with a colleague MD/partner (male) on Monday. He called to tell me that the client asked him if I am preggo. Have 3 kids and done. Not large but not washboard. Peer asked me to make it clear to client that I’m not preggo and will be available throughout the project. Do I actually do that?
I’ve been at the firm for over a yr (right out of college). I’m thinking about leaving the firm because I want to be on projects with travel. Any tips on firms or industry with lots of travel work?
On my first project - got yelled at by my manager due to missing his expectation of wk1. Manager raised it to project lead then to my partner... partner called and see if I need help. The project is not in my expertise and I’m having trouble getting guidelines from my manager since he is busy with other tasks. I spent too much time trying to figure out myself. 8 more weeks to go. Any suggestions? Do I need to worry about partner’s call? Any advice is welcome!
Anyone looking to hire talented PhD/machine learning expert? Please DM me with email addresses to send a resume. Preferably remote or less than half travel.
Anytime you think your project is a dumpster fire... Just be glad you're not working in the White House.
Thoughts on taking a change mgmt project to define the change mgmt strategy & activities for the integration of an acquired company. Should I avoid this proj or can this be interesting?
Looking for a manager/SM referral to Accenture consulting. Highly interested in a position I found and think that I will be a good fit! Talent and Organization practice preferable.
What’s the best resource to learn if consulting firm’s do H1B transfers for experienced hires? I do not have prior consulting experience and am looking outside of Big 4 and MBB.
Started watching The Boys on Amazon Prime and GEEEEZ WHY DIDN’T I START THIS AGES AGO?! It’s soooooooooo gooood!
