Hate finding a mistake in my work days after I psychotically checked it and thought it was solid. Any tips on avoiding this in the future?

I try to come up with a check that would have addressed my mistake and then implement in the future. Mistakes are inevitable - but my perception / experience is that people with adhd are more sensitive to them and internalize them more and differently than neurotypical people since we already label ourselves as careless, lazy, unfocused, etc etc. I try to remind myself of that, too. Easier said than done - but try to be kind to yourself.

I like to write down a list of things I do when I QA so I don’t lose track (e.g, search for double spaces, review shape margins, etc.). Then you can add to that list whenever you forgot something and avoid it in the future.

You can also try SlideProof if you can use third party apps

We use it at Deloitte Canada, it’s a fantastic tool. Search “Templafy SlideProof” online.

Change the font to comic sans and run an overall spell checker in the font. Then change back before submitting

Second the checklist. Had a template in OneNote that I'd run through and literally check off things.

I was working in Pune for last 10 years in Finance/Accounts stream, but due to some personal issues I left my job in Pune & joined a new company 3 months back in my hometown. Here the work culture is so typical, people are working manually & nobody is willing to change themself & work smartly. Even my manager is not allowing me to work in smart & advanced way & I don't feel I'll be having new learning & growth here.

Should I move back to Pune or try to find some decent work from home job?

Met a psychiatrist for the first time about my adhd and he ended up prescribing Zoloft and Xanax for now, thoughts on him prescribing so quickly ? I don’t want to take drugs just to take them

Finally went to therapy and got diagnosed but considered about jumping on medication so focused on doing CBT to see if I can manage. Any success stories using CBT before turning to medication?

Has anyone taken themselves off of medication, and then made the decision to introduce it back in to your ADHD management? What contributed to that decision?

Is anyone on a low dose of Adderall or a similar stimulant, and do you find it helpful/effective?

When I was diagnosed (at 20 yo) I started on Adderall XR and my psychiatrist essentially took a “keep upping the dose until you feel side effects” approach, even though I still saw some benefits at a lower dose. I’m currently unmedicated and am somewhat hesitant to restart, but feel I could see some benefit and better stability with the help of medication.

Anyone get super dark bags underneath their eyes from adderall? Is there a way to get rid of them? Drinking more water and sleeping more (except like two days later) doesn’t help

Interesting bowl.

Besides tech and wellness, what's one thing you do that helps?

I never got a formal ADHD diagnosis, but constantly feel this lack of clarity in my thinking. I rarely can think on the fly, and need to say something out loud to myself to finally build clarity in my thinking. Is this a common symptom of ADHD? I generally am good with focusing, my brain just doesn’t operate very efficiently even when I’m 100% focused on the task at hand.

Day 5 of Wellbutrin for ADHD. Already seem to wake up easier and been able to focus a bit more. Really hope to keep seeing improvement and this isn’t a placebo affect so far!

I started Vyvanse two days ago and have been getting really bad headaches. Has anyone else experienced that? 🥲 I have been drinking water and eating protein but I feel awful, had to take the afternoon off

I have trouble not interrupting someone when
1.I know what they are taking about and don’t want them to waste their breath going on.
2. Or when I need clarification on something they are talking about.

Insecure about my IQ. FSIQ is 115, with GA 140 - I feel smart trapped in a stupid body because I can’t shit done quickly. I’ve had to work 2x as hard as others to get to where I am, but feel like a complete fraud now.
