If stayed at the company but accepted an offer for a job outside of the department I was in. I’ve now been asked by a manager from my old department to apply for a job they’re opening that would be a 2 step promotion. She thought she got my managers permission to approach me (see comments)

Just finished my first year in big law. In a niche practice area that could transfer well to in house position if they are looking for someone specializing in this area (many of our clients are GCs in this exact role), however I worry those jobs may not be abundant. I want to jump in 3-4 years. What can I do in the meantime to make myself look appealing as a more general GC candidate assuming my ideal job isn’t out there at that time?

How to handle excess praise from a client? Today one of my clients praised me so much in front of my boss that I almost felt like crying and felt very bewildered. I had no idea that they felt that way and my boss followed up to call out the praise. Reviewing an Amazon program manager - non tech, virtual role and I'm a bit surprised at the (Colorado req'd) listed base - $72k - $127k. I’m 23 and constantly have back pain, my shoulder aches, etc. from sitting so long at my desk. I have a standing desk and use it for a few hours a day.
1) has anyone found a routine that has significantly helped? Am I just not exercising / stretching enough?
2) Is this worth it? (Realize that’s a deeper question) But has anyone been in consulting for a while and noticed significant health / physical problems and wish they left sooner?
