I think your question is how to handle a planned vacation when transitioning to a future job. You should bring this up once you have an offer. If you don’t receive enough annual vacation time, you may need to ask for it to be an unpaid trip but make sure they know about it upon hiring

like

There is also the chance they will have you use all of you available PTO and then unpaid for the remainder, so be prepared to discuss possibilities of using less PTO during this trip so you have emergency days if you get sick or something comes up during the year.

Taking a four week vacation is not a perk most people in the workforce enjoy. Just be aware your new employer may find it odd.

If it’s eight or nine months away and it’s been away it sounds like your supervisors will plan accordingly and won’t need you for that month

I’d let them know ASAP then so they can plan accordingly

Go somewhere else, I may not be able to take it and I aleady have the plane tickets. Has anyone dealt with this type of thing before while looking for a new job? If so, what happened?

Hello everyone, Does anyone use 12.9 iPad (with a magic keyboard) as a “second workstation”? For example: lightweight typing machine when you need to work on an email or draft a document, or just join a conference call. My primary machine is MacBook Pro 16 but it’s a bit balky and I’d prefer not to take it with me when I’m leaving for a vacation.
