It’s time for me to move on from my back office/CBS job at EY. I’ve been able to get through to recruiter and hiring manager screening round with FAANG employers and some tech companies but never beyond that. How can I differentiate myself when I’m probably also up against our client facing colleagues in consulting. I have about 12 years experience (7 at EY doing the same thing).
This job is miserable without travel.

Depends on region, but I felt it was easy applying out of undergrad (compared to what others told me MBB was). Did go through 8 interviews, but was given an offer. Left after ~4 years.
Did also receive offers from Monitor Deloitte and Strategy&. Did not apply to MBB (didn’t know they existed or what the whole consulting hierarchy was at the time)
Knew many people who went through it (all 10+ YOE) and spoke well of the firm. Many ended up in strong careers using Accenture as a base (IB, HF, MBB).
Accenture is also a truly global firm compared to Deloitte / PwC. (1) Strategy training is in different country (not sure if that’s relevant anymore tho). (2) On engagements you can tap into your global network to find the SME or fly them in to meet the client (3) global staffing opportunities.
They also sponsor your MBA if you go to a top school
