Why is he looking for a pay cut

He should look into Parthenon as well,

We have a managing director who used to be a doctor (MD turned MD lol), but I’m pretty sure he had actual medical experience.

like

Given that he is a dentist by his academic background with mo consulting experience?

No*

Yes, send burner if he would like a referral.

No

Any kind fish willing to refer for an entry level position? Amazing work ethic, very smart but desperately in need of a job.

Would be happy to, although, he might come in at a higher level (which wouldn't be a bad thing for him). Where did he get his MHA? Just wondering.

I'm sure Deloitte might hire in at consultant level to GHM depending on the school he received MHA from

Yes possible. Needs to practice cases though

McKinsey hires a lot of MDs. They’re well regarded. Many consult to healthcare or pharma and medical device clients, but some work in other sectors too. I haven’t seen any DMDs, but I imagine they exist. Did your friend go to top schools? What are your friend’s test scores like?

He'll have to come in at a staff level if he doesn't have any prior hc admin or consulting experience. Would suggest he go forward with dentistry and try to get management experience at his practice before trying consulting

Start at ZS, we're the gorilla in the room when it comes to healthcare consulting. Don't know of any dentists but we do have mds and tons of phds. Would likely start at entry Associate or Associate Consultant level.

At Booz Allen, he'd come in at probably Associate or maybe even Lead Associate. Most likely not below that due to the DMD, but not sure. Levels from low to high are: Consultant, Sr. Consultant, Associate, Lead Associate, Senior Associate, Principal, VP, varying levels of SVP and EVP, CEO.

Burner is fishfam268@gmail.com If any if you could help out with referrals, I’d be really grateful.

@BA1 any chance you can help with a referral?

Yes, absolutely! contactmeburner@gmail.com

Thank you!

Do you think using “him/her” for “he/she” (ex: “her is playing” “him not here yet”) is something that kids usually grow out of? Or does it need direct intervention? Normally I’d just keep them on and work on it alongside other goals, but they don’t have any other goals, and with COVID, and my upcoming maternity leave in March, a more compact caseload would be advantageous.

Hear me out before reporting this. I know it’s a good thing overall that we focus more on mental health/therapy nowadays, but sometimes I wonder if it’s just a crutch to blame things on others and not take self responsibility. It’s not any better after multiple therapists and the latest one he likes seems to encourage blaming my parents as the cause despite us having same upbringing

Maybe off-topic, but I’ve got a question related to taxes and withholding. 2020 was the first year that both me and my wife made full salaries in our high-paying jobs (she’s a pharmacist, I’m in consulting). We don’t do anything out of the ordinary to reduce our taxes, we just put ~ 6% each towards our 401k’s. No house or kids so our other deductions are limited. Just started doing taxes and got a shock that we owe big. Any others in this situation? Do you just withhold a ton extra on W4?
