Your cap gains are fairly small so if they are LT gains the tax is not much. I would prefer VOO or IVV. Alternatively just contribute future money to one of them and see if the market drops then sell SPY then. Of course it could keep going up and you will have bigger gains.

If you can get to 100 shares of spy, you can sell far otm covered calls against them. Premium might not be much but will cover the extra fee as compared to voo and then some. Spy is more liquid and has better options than voo. If you don’t wanna do cc, sell spy and stick to voo.

Check the options chain for voo and spy

that sounds like a good move. It's nothing today but in 20 years when you have $1.5M there it will add up. If you have a gain today, start funding the VOO and move the SPY after it's a long term gain.

What are everyone’s thoughts on big wage gaps in a couple. My boyfriend makes about 40k now and realistically won’t make more than 70k in his chosen career. I make more than double what he makes now and suspect that wage gap will only keep increasing. Is this anyone else’s situation? I don’t know how to handle as we have more shared expense (ie rent). Splitting payments equally doesn’t seem fair since I’m pushing for a nicer and more expensive place but I also don’t want to make him feel bad.

Home office preference question. I am getting ready to redo the layout of my home office. One option I'm considering would have my desk facing a wall. I am wondering if anyone with this current setup has any feedback about it. I would face the wall so that I would have a better background for video conferences (am on about half the day) and also my cord situation would be cleaner.
