Have an almost 3 year old and an 18 month old. I’ll be 39 this year, struggling with the idea of whether to have a third. I’m the main breadwinner in my family with husband laid off. Anyone else gone through this experience? What did you decide and what made sense for your family?

After experiencing a global pandemic, we decided to just stick with one kid. The uncertainties as a result of covid and inability to hire any help is anxiety inducing for me.

Why having a third when you already have two

Had one at 38 and my second this year at 40. And I’m definitely the breadwinner. If you want three and financially you’re ok, go for it. 40 took a little longer to recover than 38, but other than that I don’t see it being an issue.

I have 3 and am the breadwinner by far. Had my third at 37. It was tough in the baby’s early years but I wouldn’t change it for the world. With the first two I was eager to go back to work but with the third all I wanted was to be at home with my family. I did change my career a bit and go internal so I wouldn’t have to travel and have better WLB. I’m still the breadwinner and feel so blessed to be financially secure and have these three beautiful children.

I think if you want a third and can manage financially, you should go for it.

We have two and are trying for a third now. Not sure if being older really is the reason but I will suits been way harder this time vs the prior two. So if you do want a third I’d say go for it (and soon)!

We have 2 littles and have debated a third. I just turned 39 also. Ultimately the pandemic delayed any trying we would have done and after the roller coaster that has been 2020 I think we will be happy with our two and not try for 3.

I am an analyst. To be honest, I feel like I am sinking, and everyone knows it. I was not an Econ major in college (poly Sci) , and I am new to excel. However, I feel like I am constantly thrown into the deep end, and no one wants to help me, answer my questions, or help guide me through asks. I was under the impression that this would be a teaching environment. Worst feeling when you feel stupid, and you know that everyone else thinks you are stupid too. Will prob b fired.
