Have an industry offer that's 50-60% more pay, a promotion, & doesn't require travel. The culture can be intense/political but all the higher ups like me. Worth taking for 2-3yrs then see what's next?

If the culture is political and the higher ups like you, it seems like a plus for you! Go for it!

like

Most likely yes. IMO depends how that pay is structured. Is this a 50-60% Base increase or all in? If all in, what’s the breakout between base and variable?

like

Is this a portco? I mean seems like a good gig especially if you’re looking at a 2-3 yr horizon. If anything it’s a lot of cash regardless of what you were at before

like

Take it. You can always come back to consulting

like

A1 - Just redid the math again. It's 40-50% increase in base, with an additional 10-15% variable comp. Plus a generous signing bonus... But didn't include that in the calculations since it's a one-time thing.

Hi all!
Would love some insight on how you went from an HR assistant/coordinator to an HR Generalist. I’ve been in the HR world for 8 years, and only in the last 2-3 have I really done real HR work. The first company I was at didn’t have a solid HR team so I don’t really count that. I feel like I’m ready to take on more responsibility and learn more. And of course make more money.

I have looked into getting SHRM certification. But should I go back to school and get my masters in Hr?

We adopted a senior calico kitty from the shelter back in November. She is the Queen of Sass... we love her but man can she be spicy.

We have been to a few vets as she is a senior lady and has renal disease. All of the vets we have been to indicate that it is common amongst cats of that color - calico/tortoiseshell - for them to have an attitude.

Has anyone else experienced this? Are certain color kitties really predisposed to certain temperaments?

I realized post-interview the recruiter might have me in the interviewer loop for the level below what I was targeting. I know I should’ve asked or they should’ve shared, but that didn’t happen.
