Call with HCM post final interview to go over some “forms”. Does this generally mean an offer is incoming? Goldman Sachs
As an interviewer, I find it very awkward when an interviewee has on a button-up with a tie and jacket. Heck, even just a button-up. Why do you wear that at home? Put your polo on, relax a little, and don't sit their like a stiff in your apartment bedroom with a fake background.
Hey everyone- not interview specifically but looking for advice. A few months ago I denied a job offer due to uncertainty with COVID. Now seeing how things are taking a turn, I feel comfortable taking the job. I told them (and they asked me to) reach back out mid-Feb to March. Any advice to start that email exchange?
Has anyone felt humiliated during interview interviewer purposefully not accepting your answer not courteous even though you tell something told to tell something apart from that
Once I get my bonus (tomorrow) what are the drawbacks of telling my biglaw firm I interviewed with another firm and am strongly considering accepting their soon-to-be offer (at a higher salary)? For context: the relevant partners at the new firm already told me there will be an offer, it just needs to be written up, and they want me as soon as possible. The obvious biggest risk is my firm fires me and the new firm, for whatever reason, pulls the offer. Anything else I’m not considering?
How long after an interview can you touch base?
This is an interesting article. Thought s from an evangelical climate scientist. I find the following statement to be spot on. ‘The biggest struggle I have is that in the Bible, Jesus says to his disciples, “You should be recognized as my disciples by your love for others,” and today when you look at people who self-identify as Christians in the United States, love for others is not one of the top characteristics you see. Christianity is much more closely linked with politics ‘. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/01/03/magazine/katharine-hayhoe-interview.html?unlocked_article_code=AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACEIPuonUyYiZ_tU1Gw5CRWySB4B99Fre3L-Xm_s5j3D3PimTRHFBxvgVCpKB_UqIZaNyZ9w-mjWdWNJbLr4iW7py0upbdQRLejWfn6Glyt4DMjln7sWyWH87xZvGQbEm_HiyMjm0I7Ygyfix4hjbdWXvXvPA2XB3JxJhpJpgfVH80CZclK3VA6UijIkFqPQiBJ57QTwEZCOY7bK_W1glZoLwPlyL4RI2WupZRTjQgdedjrkCew5ZAl7NJ2httSd-sJgPfYNKY9usakIoa8H8gr4OC2R3LInPBJQ5RIjck7UCoqdqJgu3L6z3Ten3qPvxY_8v&referringSource=articleShare
Resident interviewing for my next position in the madness of all this. I got asked in an interview today about my "family plans"...as a female surgeon, it's pretty clear what they meant
How does one get into Big 4 Transactions/Financial Due Diligence out of undergrad? I'll be a senior next fall with a 3.8 GPA as an Accounting & Finance double major applying for full time positions. I'm in Beta Alpha Psi and have a public accounting internship under my belt. What are my chances? Should I apply for FDD roles next fall, or should I spend a couple years in audit and then transfer service lines? Thanks!
Applying to law school next year: do schools even care if I worked at a Big Four firm or not when applying? Does ~job prestige~ matter?

Anyone here is a member of the Chief? I’ve got an invite for an interview, and I can buy a new Chanel purse for the cost membership. Is it worth it?
To all the freelancers: if you get asked to do a “writing assignment” - make sure you say you’re billing for your time. Don’t do free work! Was interviewing a junior today who mentioned they did a test at another shop (for free). Doesn’t matter if you’re entry level - you deserve to be compensated for your time and the ideas you contribute. Some places will take advantage and use those “tests” to fuel the work. So regardless, get paid!
My firm’s diversity just gets lip service. A diverse candidate was just interviewed by 10 old white dudes. Do firms honestly take diversity seriously, or just give it the lip service they think clients desire.

I have a panel interview at Apple for a legal position coming up. It will include, I’ve been told by the recruiter, two drafting exercises during the all-day interview. Any insight from current employees or someone who has gone through the process on what it looked it and whether there were any curveballs/weird questions/difficult exercises?
Are there people in our industry who specialise in award submissions? I.e writing and editing a case study, filling out submission forms, gathering results…
How does this sound?
But once again not posting

Anybody here in infrastructure consulting as an analyst or consultant? If so what rating did you get and what was your bonus %? I heard it went down this year as infra was moved into operations.

Has anyone done a 2-hr roundtrip daily commute for years? Unfortunately in this situation due to location of spouse’s job -it’s fairly rural and that area doesn’t have the same level of education (kid is about to start K), diversity, convenience, jobs opps me, stuff to do or parks as our current city has. Switching jobs is not an option for him unfortunately. I do feel very guilty about the long commute for him though.
First time on the bench since my onboarding. Perfect timing too. I'll have a drink or 10 for all you working the holidays

I love the smell of client value creation in the morning. It's an interesting mix of analyst sweat and tears.
Was in the process of interviewing in industry starting in July. Ended up connecting with the right MD at my firm during the process and getting on the type of work I’ve been trying to do for 2 years. The project is really intense and not sure how to do my final rounds with the other two companies during working hours. Is it worth the PTO If I wouldn’t take the offers? I don’t want to blow this project but don’t want to seem like a flake to the other companies. Advice please
