After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" A year ago I moved to an HCOL area to accept a new position, however, I do not go into the office daily. I just go whenever my team needs to be in office. Was wondering has anyone moved out of an HCOL area to save money on rent and was it frowned upon when your firm found out? With inflation and rent going up I’m considering moving 3 hours away where rent is half the cost I’m paying now.

Had my 2nd interview with the hiring manager this past Friday & sent a thank you shortly after. It's now Tuesday (for those who see this on another day). At the end of the interview he said they've had other people who were interested but only one other person besides me were they considering. Said he would talk to his team and possibly have me fly out to meet in person. How long should I wait to follow up without seeming pushy?
