Hello, it’s been a very hard couple of months applying for jobs and not hearing back. I interviewed at Facebook (Meta) , McKinsey & Company through referrals. I keep getting beat down because I don’t get callbacks from submitting my resume directly to the company (only 3 so far out of hundreds). My background is in Biotechnology (Master’s) and Biomedical engineering with industry experience in Reg Affairs + Project Management. I want to work on product teams in high growth companies. Any tips?
Does it matter what headphones you use on a zoom interview in terms of looks for prestigious companies MBB, Big 4 and others? I’ve been told that that my Sony noise cancelling headphones don’t look good and I should invest in AirPods.
My boss is currently working on pushing through a promotion, with a vision to build a team around me for 2022. I haven't outwardly said that I am unhappy, but I know that I don't envision myself here for much longer. I'm in final rounds of interviews & if it works out would be switching industries. Feeling some guilt around knowing how much they are trying to push for me & impact to clients when I might leave soon. Any advice on how to deal w this? Know I can't say much until offer in hand.
Hi all, I had a phone screen with a recruiter on 11/23, and he said his coordinator would reach out in scheduling an interview with the practice manager. I haven’t heard from the coordinator and emailed the recruiter this morning but nothing yet. My application is in “interview” status. Should I just move on?
Anyone have experience interviewing with VC firms? Anything to keep in mind when interviewing with a smaller shop?
Interviewing at Mckinsey. Need help with case interview prep. Any suggestions beside self-help books?
Hi fishes, I am curious to learn about the current WFH policy of EY India. How is it expected to evolve in the future? I have been recruited via campus interview and expect to join around mid-2022. Thanks!

Would anyone like to case with me? Have an interview coming up in early January and want to get a lot of practice in before the holidays.
Anyone interviewed at Expedia group lately? I’ve a product manager interview coming up, wonder what the process is like and what kind of questions I should prepare myself for. Expedia Group
Down because I got some upsetting (work-related) news yesterday. I was up for promotion and did not get it, basically for my actual job that I have been acting in for over a year. I had perfect reviews and perfect on the technical portion of the interview. Apparently they dinged me on something subjective relating to situational competencies. Colleagues—who I trained and mentored—did receive promotion and we will all be working at the same job, just them at higher level and pay. Contd.
If you’re applying for a firm you’ve been staffed at, can you put the firms name on your resume?
Help! Applying to a job and one of the only real requirement is to show how I’m “adept at understanding client needs, and designing and implementing creative solutions”. My issue is I work in risk advisory and most of our client engagements don’t actually involve implementation. We usually present our findings and recommendations and move on. What’s the best way I can tackle this? I’m coming up blank and the deadline is soon.
Interviewing at McKinsey & Company and recruiter informed me I’d be based out of “North America” and can work in any city where there’s a McK office. I’ve seen several posts here about people being assigned to a home office, even if working remotely most of the time. Curious if this more general assignment is new?
Thank you notes after an interview with ECD / GCD / whoever the final decision maker is - are these done still? Haven't interviewed in a long time and unsure of it's still important (I'm freelance).
Have an interview for Guidehouse IT Strategy- Applied Solutions. What does this group actually do? They say they do Strategy work but is it just Staff Aug? I have a mix of Strategy and Ops experience and like technology but not implementing it.
Accenture I was referred by my friend for Data Scientist - Analyst position on Nov. 16th. I applied and went ahead with filling the EAF form as it was available. I have not attended any interviews so far and the status of my application is "candidature on hold". What does this mean?
Get some actual management experience before billing yourself as a CD freelancer. I’d be willing to pay your rate if you were a CW/AD with a kick ass book. And you’d be more likely to get the gig
Anyone knows the salary range in NY agencies for a Program Director with 10 years of experience?
How do you politely turn down a job offer or back out of interview at last step without burning bridges? After meeting the hiring manager and stakeholders I don’t think we’re a good fit. This job also requires relocation. I don’t want to take a job and uproot my life for something that isn’t the right fit. I’m currently unemployed so feeling a bit desperate but also don’t want to move for something that isn’t right. Thanks!
I can’t seem to “close the loop” when it comes to getting job offers. It seems I’m able to get interviews and perform well enough to be invited back for additional interviews but either I never hear back in the end or get the dreaded “thank you for applying” email. How can I break this weird barrier!? For context, I am applying to in-house roles from a law firm background. Midlevel.
Got a zoom link for interview. Checked zoom link about 1 hour before interview time to ensure it works. Turns out it’s the link to the interviewer’s room where he’s holding an unrelated meeting with other people, there was no passcode, so I quickly exited. No webcam or audio on from my side. Cause for concern? I would think best practice is private zoom link with code to enter…
Just got into a full time grad program for international affairs that starts in January of 2021. (completely changing careers). I need to stay working at my firm until then and possible after to get the billable hours for my CPA. I passed all 4 exams and I refuse to give let that go to waste...... how do I tell my employer I'll be going to school in a way that they'll still let me work part time? Extremely nervous they're just going to let me go.
Got my contract position converted to associate. Any scope for signing bonus negotiations? Or should i just let it go?
Have an interview coming up with protivi for tech strategy role. Anyone can share insights on what can I expect/overall interview process?
If you want to be underpaid, stepped on by the firms obsession with their newest toy (strategy& wtf is that), laid off in humanely , "learn from crappy leadership" - then PwC is for you!
Looking for advice: does part time MBA opens the same doors as full time? I work in DC area and on a visa. Don't think I can work full time and study full time as well. Thinking of applying next year, but let's see.
