Hi Fishers, I want to pivot my career into management consultant. I am currently working as a Market research analyst with 1 YOE. Can someone please suggest me how or where should I start to build my career in management consulting at Big 4.
Also, please suggest entry level jobs that I will be eligible for with skills in Strategy, primary and secondary research, and competitor analysis.
Thanks in advance!

I think if they ask you about it, you should ask them if they typically make offers two years in advance of graduation.
So convince them that your business acumen has improved. Seems simple enough.
Say that you had an offer but you choose to boot it as you were busy bedding girls at that time.
They said it wasn't performance/conduct related as my performance was on par with my peers. The reasoning they gave was that "business acumen" could improve so they "held off on giving the offer". It was also an offer for a junior year internship.
Just own it. You’ve had experience since then that makes you a better consultant and a more compelling candidate. I’d make sure you have a thought out answers about how your experience will help you to be successful and about why you want to rejoin that firm. You should be fine. If they were hung up on that experience, they wouldn’t have selected you to interview
What’d you do the next summer? Just say you wanted to try something else
“Bedding girls......for profit...."
LOL @C1. @D1 yea I had an internship with another firm.
Just say you had a good offer at Accenture but for xyz you now want to work at Deloitte
So lie and say you had to take care of your mom dog or something
If they gave you the interview they probably don’t care. You’ve gotten more experience, if you appear to be competent enough to do the job I’m sure they won’t ask - you having interned there is better for them because they don’t have to get you up to speed on knowing certain internal/logistic processes
Stop looking at the world from a deficit model and play up your strengths. It is only a big deal if you make it one.
