Anyone know if it’s possible to get into McKinsey as an experienced hire without a big referral? I’ve applied to several jobs and not sure if it’s even worth it. Always been a dream to work there...
This one is for folks on h1b visa. So at time when you have an offer in hand(not accepted the offer yet and h1b transfer process not yet begun) while you are working with your current employer, do you even speak to your employer about your new offer to see if they make a counter offer? Is there a risk involved with this approach assuming your current employer doesn't provide you with a counter offer and they ask you to leave immediately (and your h1b visa hasn't been transferred either)
Is there anyone here from McKinsey or BCG in Montreal willing to chat? Im thinking about applying soon, but I feel like speaking with someone who works there will help me assess if I would love working there (culture, types of projects, etc), and that my interest isnt solely based on prestige/reputation!

Has anyone made the exit to product management either at FAANG or unicorn startup? How were you able to successfully make the leap? Any watch outs or specific pieces of advice? For reference, I am a post-MBA EM looking to make the jump and starting to prep for interviews
What are employee referral bonuses where you work for a senior associate? Looking to test the waters at other firms but would like to also see if I can work out deals with friends on splitting a bonus
Folks hoping to get some input from your experiences and the immigration professionals in this bowl. My sister is working out of Chicago and GC recruitment campaign failed. Similar campaign passed in Denver office and she was included in that campaign and notified that she will have to move offices to Denver. At what point does she have to move? I140 stage or as soon as PERM is approved? Does she have to be there now? Appreciate your thoughts on this matter.
I have been consulting for a tech company as a data engineer, and I am looking to make the switch to more of a data scientist or data analytics role. Any advice? I will soon have my masters in DS

What can you actually do to salvage a project going down in flames? I’m a new manager, completely do not have the support I need, and it seems as though every single team/person our team relies on to get things done on time has dropped the ball. All the issues are now coming to us. I don’t have the experience to navigate this all alone, and I am not getting the necessary support as all of my managers are swamped with other (to them, more important) issues at the same client.
My school now has rapid result Covid tests so we can test the students (with parental consent). I’m wondering how many other schools have the same option.

I understand that traditional vs. Roth 401k depends on tax bracket now vs. expected tax bracket in retirement. And of course there is the risk of changing tax laws. But what if you just don't know? Do you just split 50/50? Or once you're making over a certain amount, does it naturally make more sense to lean towards traditional? Not sure what other people do and what income level they make the shift to traditional, if at all.
