I personally would go for security. Make an impact and gain more financial security there. If you have kids later down the road, the benefits would definitely come in handy, and eventually with more experience at the established firm, you might be able to progress on to a higher level role either at that company or else where, where you don’t have to be as hands on if you want more time with your kids. Just a thought!

like

^^^^ this. Names on your resume can open more doors and allow you to come in at a higher level later.

Get the experience in a large firm, prove your self, move up, then later see if you want to go smaller. If you're planning for kids in 2 to 3 the maternity leave thing is HUGE

Plus bigger companies have the ability to spread work out more in the event you could not do a full return after parental leave

For people who live and plan to buy a home in HCOL cities, what’s your savings strategy for a down payment?

Currently 26, make $120K and put about 10% post tax into a Roth 401k and then anywhere from 20-40% into VOO. Goal is to be able to afford a down payment for a $1.5M home in 5-7 years.

Sometimes I get a bit concerned I’m not putting enough towards retirement, but with how expensive homes, can’t really budget any more towards it.

I had to run some morning errands last week and I was struck by the morose expressions on parents' faces as they waited in school lines for drop off.

I spend my mornings gardening, tending my house, playing with my cats, reading, learning new hobbies or just being. Talked to my mom about how we take for granted not having to drag a kid/grandkid to school every morning and how much of the day it eats up.

Is it normal in a long term relationship for your significant other to not support what you do and talk to you like a child every day? We live together and I feel trapped. This is so hard.

As if IVF wasn't overwhelming enough, I learned yesterday that some people wait in lines for preschools even BEFORE they get pregnant. Makes me want to say 'maybe I'm better off not having kids'. Does anyone else get cold feet about kids? Or is it just me? My husband really wants kids and I want nothing more than to see him happy, therefore I want kids.

Hi & welcome.
Tell me your stories. Why made you decide to choose a career that's different and creative? I'll start. I am an extrovert. I am not very keen of studying and that, ideally is the reason why engineering or medical was not my cup of tea. I chose Journalism and Mass Media. In the academics, we had multiple subjects and one of them was Writing for media. This was the beginning. This is where I thought I can be a writer. A Content Writer. Besides this, I am love Rhyming Words.
