I have been interviewed and they asked me expected salary for being in Ireland for senior engineer post how much i should tell then keeping in mind i have a family also.

I have 3 years in banking and applying for a Senior Relationship Banker, I started as a teller and have had 2 promotions currently I am a Relationship Banker II. I’m interested in the history of abbreviating million as “mm.” Google says it’s Roman numeral M for thousand. MM = 1000x1000 = 1 million. Sounds to me like someone lazily got around meters by adding an extra m and then reverse engineered the abbreviation.

I commonly work with a male partner and male associate. I just lateraled. I am more senior than the male associate, but he and the male partner have worked together for years. All instructions come to me through the male associate, and they are not always what the partner wants. I also feel like the male associate sometimes intentionally messes with me and undermines my work product. I get the feeling they talk shit about me. It is starting to feel like a boy’s club. This question might anger some, but not meant to be provoking. Does anyone else feel that half the jobs in tech (scrum master, project manager, product manager, etc.) are more hindering than helpful? I feel like productivity would sky rocket if we didn’t have 10+ hours a week added of admin work/agile ceremonies/status meetings, and you just let developers and analysts do their job. Why are we spending hours learning how to estimate story points (for example) rather than improving production?

Hi all! So I got a job with a bank, so I'm currently going through the process of a background check.

They ask for the past 5 years but I'm not sure if it includes 2017 or not? I assume it's from 2018-2022 that they will be looking at. Also, I did work a job up until early 2017, but don't have any records on it besides pay slips (not of every year) and T4. And I worked a job from 2018-2020 that wasn't included on my resume. Should that be listed on my background check?

Hi 🐠 ! If I’m 100% new to casing (have a business degree but have been in audit for a year), how long do you recommend practicing case interviews to be strong at it? Is 6-8 weeks sufficient? Would likely be applying for analyst/associate roles. My friends in consulting keep reassuring me that it’s a learned skill but after watching my first case interview ngl I’m pretty intimidated 😅
