Advice for re-entering the workforce after a 3 year gap? I had some health issues that made me leave my career in 2018, and by the time I was healthy enough to work again, covid started and I was unable to get any interviews. I haven't been able to find the motivation to cold apply for jobs again because I'm not quite ready to go through all the rejection like I did last time. How do I get over this? And how do I edit my resume to explain the gap?
Larger ladies, where do you find affordable suits? My younger cousin is suit shopping for job interviews (she’s graduating this year) and is having trouble finding nice-fitting suits that fit her well
Hey all, Been out of work for about a year now, been interviewing and actively since being laid off due to companys budget cut. Was in final / decision rounds before covid and everything has been tbd or rescinded since. Responses have been few and far in between and now the year gap is becoming a concern. Would like to ask if anyone has tips or can point me in the right direction. I come from a management consulting/prod mgt background in tech. Disregard the risk consultant title.
Are beards appropriate in big law in the US while interviewing and/or working as an associate? Could it just depend on the person interviewing you? From what I’ve seen in Europe, they’re tolerated even in old school environments. Thank you!
For the KPMG folks- I was invited for an interview, and I'm curious what would be a good range for asking salary - just to make sure I'm not way on the high end. I have a PhD and a little over 1 yoe in consulting working for a boutique firm (not small, but not huge).
Currently have a good WLB with 30-40 hr weeks. Have an MBB interview scheduled. They’d probably give me only 20% bump as I’m already in top band. Is MBB worth the hype that I have to sacrifice my WLB?
Two R1 Zoom interviews - one went well and the other not so well. Think it was a good cop bad cop situation. Do they factor in both interviews 50-50?

Tips for interviewing at Amazon? Recruiter contacted me for a position I didn't apply for and set up an interview without any context. They probably got my resume for other positions I applied for I presume. They provided me with a few links for how to interview at Amazon and gave me the linked in of who I would be doing my phone interview with. Any help tips would be appreciated. TIA
Interviewing for Saatchi and Saatchi NY - any thoughts on the work life balance there? Trying to avoid 80hr weeks
What does it mean when someone says that "we are a high leverage organization"? That phrase came up in an interview. I don't remember the full context, but it definitely wasn't in the context of debt - something about the organization's activities, how it makes an impact, hierarchal structure, or something else. It was an interview with a VC firm.
Looking to resign in about a month. Really need a mental break from the corporate world. I’ve amassed about 2-3 years worth of salary in my investments to hold me through for however long. How bad is it if I took 6-18 months off to pursue hobbies and possible other career paths (content creation/vlogging) while being unemployed before applying to another job in industry? TLDR; I’m about to quit, how bad does a 6-18 month employment gap look when looking to apply again to the workforce?

Should I remove undergrad internships from my resume now that I have 3.5 years of full time experience? I worked 20 hours per week during the semester and 40 hours during the winter/summer breaks for two of my four internships. I'm applying for cybersecurity positions and those internships were more IT focused (configuration management, IT asset, etc).

I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?
Social media has made me go from not wanting kids to definitely not wanting kids. So. Many. Baby. Posts. Everywhere. Non-stop. People complain that when you have kids people only see you as a “mom” or “dad” and you lose your own identify, but I swear they do this to themselves. Also the other day I accidentally scrolled upon an instagram story of a baby and their blown out diaper. Just WHY is that necessary!? I don’t get it..
A few weeks ago our holding company said we’d be remote for all of 2021, that nobody would be forced to come into the office. Today we got an email from the CEO of our agency network (not it’s holding company) saying we’d have three months to make arrangements to come back; for instance, if things are better in June we’ll come back in September. I HATE these mixed messages. Are we remote for 2021, or not???
Anybody have any insight on Cerberus? Culture, comp wise or other big takeaways? How is it looked at compared to the big MF’s?
