Each segment is on a sliding scale. EWR-DEL starts at $1,200. Return starts at $875.
My plan was to maybe go up to $200. So I'm not bidding anything 😊
This is my second time flying AI, out of about 12 trips I've taken to India. I try to avoid it as much as I can. But the price this time around was so low that it was a no brainer. And I'm not flying with family so I can just tough it out.

Just go for it man. Sometimes, It’s not worth to spend $100’s dollars for crappy entertainment (emirates movies suck), sub standard food (which airlines have best food that you cannot get outside).
I don’t understand what the big deal about airlines. My priority is, cost, layover, timing. Rest, I can manage.

I mean air India business class is trash - so depends what you mean is it worth it
They fly the 777-300 these days for non stop flights between India- US. I flew business earlier this month- my review is that their infrastructure is veryyyy old and needs a complete redo. TV screens are so dated that there is a 1-2 sec lag when I press a button. But I paid for the lie flat beds, so not complaining. Service was good, much better than economy, where it’s just so chaotic.

Oh boy - I’d never fly air india let alone pay for an upgrade. Last trip I took a month ago, I splurged and flew emirates business - would not do it any other way.
