I wold wait for them to ask if it is a competitor and then tell them that you would rather not say.
Yeah, don’t lie. It is a bad look. Just be super cryptic so they assume you are going to a competitor.
You are employed at will and there’s no requirement to give 2 weeks. Be a grown up and if you want to leave right away just say so. It’s not going to make or break the outcome
I would say that you are going to a competitor, but you don’t feel comfortable saying which one at this time. You’re not lying so long as the company does something vaguely related to a big 4 service.
Genius!
Dude that's shady AF. What, you think your coworkers/partner don't have LinkedIn? Lying is a good way to burn a bridge.
I’m being serious.
Do they pay you for the two weeks of notice time they gave you?
I’d say it’s not a lie if the new firm had the same service offering. May be stretching the truth, but it’s not lying.
