Have any of you discussed complete remote work with your manager?

Is anyone interested in taking over the lease for a top floor 3 bed 2 bath, 1500 SQ ft apartment in a newly built complex in Plaza Midwood? The lease runs through Sept 2023. It's one of the nicest complexes in the city, has close proximity to Uptown, and has excellent amenities (e.g. CrossFit style gym, two pools, dog park, on site complimentary cafe, etc.). My unit has an ideal layout for work from home and a huge patio.

Edit: $3,196/mo including valet trash pickup ($35) and pest control ($4)

SAFe is already a get-rich-quick scheme and their training is shady as it is. In remote is it even possible to do when there is so many failures when we are not remote? I think it's a waste.

I feel like there are talks of a “California Exodus” that happens every 10 years.

But with the pandemic, people’s loss of faith in CA politics, transplants moving back home, and people opting to move either to more suburban cities or out of state for cheaper housing options because they’ll be WFH permanently, do you guys think that this time around, a “California Exodus” actually has legs?

I want to work completely remote as I am lazy to travel 1hr to reach office and got used to WFH model. But my manager is kind of forcing me to come to office atleast once in a week and I want to negotiate it to once in a month.. any tips or suggestions for negotiation please.

How hard is it to go in-house once you're a partner? I'm up for evaluation this winter at a smaller BigLaw firm, but I'm questioning whether that's the route I want to go long term. Can you have good WLB while working in a small (<10 attorneys) legal department? I’ve only ever worked at large companies with large legal departments. I’m worried taking vacations would be hard at a very small company since there are fewer people to cover for you.

How do we overcome the inflation objection? I mean obviously the answer is to show how much value we offer, but how do we do that when all of the companies we work with barely have enough funding?

They need our services, which is at least some job security, but their scale back is greatly affecting our projections and quota attainment.
