It was a startup when I went there

Trained as an executive coach - can only recommend as total game-changer for client relationships (if you don’t mind dealing with their divorces). You need to find a reputable school though as it’s a bit of a Wild West market out there..

OW1 this is very interesting - I’m considering training as an executive coach as well - can you share more about where you received the training, (e.g. any certifications such as ICF?) and in what ways it changed your client relationships?

Not yet, but strongly evaluating pivoting to a relevant yet completely different area or consulting over the next few years.

Nope - outside.

I was a partner at a Big 4 and then started a consulting firm, small startup which i grew to 20 people. Had enough of that and now am Accenture MD as an interim step until I figure out my next move.

What kind of car do you drive and how much did it cost? Obviously this depends on a lot of other factors like other expenses (mortgage, student loans, kids, etc.). I've been driving the same car since high school, a 2012 Hyundai Elantra. There isn't anything wrong with it, but I kind of want a car with the newer safety features like blind spot cameras and lane assist. I'm just curious how much other people are spending.

Still struggling a bit w breakup from early December. I posted earlier abt the guy who wanted me to dress femmy/sexy and ignored my issues. 3 months. I made a list of the top 5 reasons it wasn't working out for me and still I'm second guessing myself. I did break up by phone and felt good about it. I clearly told him the reasons. He called back abt hour later and ended up yelling at me about Jackie O and Audrey Hepburn's style and saying he wouldn't call again. Cont'

Hi All,

Kindly help me in resolving the dilemma

MBA with Total YOE - 7+, relevant YOE- 5.3 , Skills - CYBERSECURITY,GRC, Audit.

I have got two offers
1. Genpact - 27 CTC (24 fixed + 10% variable plus gratuity) Manager level
2. Airbus - 23 CTC + 5 L JB
I really wanted to work with Airbus but they are not budging from the offer of 23 even after I told them I have a better offer from Genpact with better position. HR said they will come back..

You think Airbus will come back with better offer?

Hi All,
I wish to join one of the top consulting firms like McKinsey, BCG, B&C etc. I am currently working as a Business Analyst with a work ex of 3 years.
I have started exploring on my own and one thing that came out different were Case Studies interviews and I have started reading and preparing for them.
I will do MBA also post working in one of these firms.
I was hoping if anyone can help me to prepare better or suggest a plan to land a job for a role that aligns with my ambitions.
Thank You

I’m starting my first year as partner and really underestimated the cash flow challenges I’ve always heard about. With 3 kids, my health insurance is 5x, plus the tax burden, and despite a $100k bump, my cash flow is less. Aside from just being conservative, any advice? My spouse is really confused why a promotion causes financial challenge!

I am so tired of Deloitte allowing bias towards MDs. Only because you are not an equity partner, your voice is automatically muted, you can contribute but you don’t get to decide. The minute a senior manager gets promoted to a principal, he gets on top of an MD with 15+ years experience and treats you like he is your boss. I mean this is a cast system at its best! I can’t wait to leave this firm, COVID can’t end fast enough.

Partners - how does your firm incentivize Partners to collaborate and bring the best of your firm's thinking to each account without getting into a turf war?
Why would a Partner at your firm reach out more broadly and pull in more (v. fewer)? At my current firm, I am seeing some information / relationship hoarding. I recognize this is common across the board but I am curious how your firm is tackling this institutionally.

Im a fourth year partner. The clients are good, workload is manageable, have a great team and a great boss. But I'm just not motivated to go and kill it anymore. It just feels more of the same thing. Also, I keep having a feeling that I could be doing a lot more if I were in a startup or in a different corporate role. The only reason that stops me from doing any of this is that money here is good and I worked really hard to get here. Any advice?

I am being recruited by McKinsey. I am just starting the process so who knows what will happen. In the summer I had an offer from EY, which was good, but I actually felt like my role at ACN was just too good to leave. However Mck seems to focus on really interesting problems to solve. My questions to other partners out there - if you left another firm to go to Mck, why? If you considered an offer but decided to stay where you are, why? Don’t want to waste people’s time if I’m better off at ACN

Considering an MD position at Accenture and need to give comp expectation, its on Strategy side. Of course its based on my own need and desire, but like to hear from (ex)MDs at Accenture if 400k sounds like a reasonable ask for base. And can anyone help me understand the difference between L4 and L3? For reference, I am a Senior Principal with almost 2 years executive industry experience post consulting. Thanks for any insights!
