How do you all feel about these tell-alls? Some of it is relatable but being tipped “five brand-new hundred dollar bills for a table for the next night" doesn't feel exactly like a common experience
I will take any advice on getting up early
What kind of car do you drive and how much did it cost? Obviously this depends on a lot of other factors like other expenses (mortgage, student loans, kids, etc.). I've been driving the same car since high school, a 2012 Hyundai Elantra. There isn't anything wrong with it, but I kind of want a car with the newer safety features like blind spot cameras and lane assist. I'm just curious how much other people are spending.
Reco for body wash, shampoo, hair conditioner, lotion for toddler? Have been using aqua phone brand so far but wondering if the LO is now old enough to go on to other brands

Still struggling a bit w breakup from early December. I posted earlier abt the guy who wanted me to dress femmy/sexy and ignored my issues. 3 months. I made a list of the top 5 reasons it wasn't working out for me and still I'm second guessing myself. I did break up by phone and felt good about it. I clearly told him the reasons. He called back abt hour later and ended up yelling at me about Jackie O and Audrey Hepburn's style and saying he wouldn't call again. Cont'
Any recs for trendy down puffers less than $150? Love high neck, oversized puffers, leather or the shiny material. Needs to be warm though bc I live in Chicago. Thanks!
Hey 🐠, I’ve been very interested in starting to own and rent out properties, I’m in NYC but willing to look other places. I currently own my first home, have two kids, partner and I work mid manager

I have got two offers
1. Genpact - 27 CTC (24 fixed + 10% variable plus gratuity) Manager level
2. Airbus - 23 CTC + 5 L JB
I really wanted to work with Airbus but they are not budging from the offer of 23 even after I told them I have a better offer from Genpact with better position. HR said they will come back..
You think Airbus will come back with better offer?
I wish to join one of the top consulting firms like McKinsey, BCG, B&C etc. I am currently working as a Business Analyst with a work ex of 3 years.
I have started exploring on my own and one thing that came out different were Case Studies interviews and I have started reading and preparing for them.
I will do MBA also post working in one of these firms.
I was hoping if anyone can help me to prepare better or suggest a plan to land a job for a role that aligns with my ambitions.

I’m starting my first year as partner and really underestimated the cash flow challenges I’ve always heard about. With 3 kids, my health insurance is 5x, plus the tax burden, and despite a $100k bump, my cash flow is less. Aside from just being conservative, any advice? My spouse is really confused why a promotion causes financial challenge!
I am so tired of Deloitte allowing bias towards MDs. Only because you are not an equity partner, your voice is automatically muted, you can contribute but you don’t get to decide. The minute a senior manager gets promoted to a principal, he gets on top of an MD with 15+ years experience and treats you like he is your boss. I mean this is a cast system at its best! I can’t wait to leave this firm, COVID can’t end fast enough.
How differentiated are your base salaries across the globe? Here we have the same base in San Francisco as Warsaw, regardless of cost of living / competition etc. differences.

Partners - how does your firm incentivize Partners to collaborate and bring the best of your firm's thinking to each account without getting into a turf war?
Why would a Partner at your firm reach out more broadly and pull in more (v. fewer)? At my current firm, I am seeing some information / relationship hoarding. I recognize this is common across the board but I am curious how your firm is tackling this institutionally.
Im a fourth year partner. The clients are good, workload is manageable, have a great team and a great boss. But I'm just not motivated to go and kill it anymore. It just feels more of the same thing. Also, I keep having a feeling that I could be doing a lot more if I were in a startup or in a different corporate role. The only reason that stops me from doing any of this is that money here is good and I worked really hard to get here. Any advice?
I am being recruited by McKinsey. I am just starting the process so who knows what will happen. In the summer I had an offer from EY, which was good, but I actually felt like my role at ACN was just too good to leave. However Mck seems to focus on really interesting problems to solve. My questions to other partners out there - if you left another firm to go to Mck, why? If you considered an offer but decided to stay where you are, why? Don’t want to waste people’s time if I’m better off at ACN
Partners - I’m entertaining a couple of offers to join other firms. What are the details you’d look out for in a potential new contract? In my specific case I’m an income partner but welcome insight related to equity to so this thread is more broadly useful.
Considering an MD position at Accenture and need to give comp expectation, its on Strategy side. Of course its based on my own need and desire, but like to hear from (ex)MDs at Accenture if 400k sounds like a reasonable ask for base. And can anyone help me understand the difference between L4 and L3? For reference, I am a Senior Principal with almost 2 years executive industry experience post consulting. Thanks for any insights!
McKinsey and BCG, you guys are broken and making us all look bad. Get some talent and some senior people in execution. Stop with the inexperienced nonsense. Quality and results driven work or fold up shop. https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2021/08/22/private-consultants-vaccination-drive-outsourced/
A senior partner is leaving for another firm. He’s been a great coach and always had my back. Want to give him a farewell gift and looking for ideas. Any suggestions or something your colleagues gave that delighted you?

What are some good questions to ask your interviewer (post recruiter screen) when interviewing for a partner/MD position? Appreciate the support.
Do any of your firms have a Chief Revenue Officer in title and/or practice? What’s the reaction from clients to a role like that if it’s external facing?
Genuine question. How do you feel about a looming recession? What are you ways to prepare for it? What are you telling your teams?
Anyone here moving from Big4 to Genpact SVP? They seem to offer a lot to move but wonder how the transition has been on née growing consulting / digital services? Also worry about brand downgrade but then compensation upside is 2-3x. Appreciate candid feedback.
Any recommendations on professional recruiters for lateral partner moves. Considering leaving my current firm. I’ve been successful, but the politics are a killer. I’m in consulting.
Any suggestions on how to get an adjunct teaching role at a university. Don't need money or prestige. I enjoy teaching and gives me something to do when I retire in ~10 yrs. Many colleagues who do this are big alumni donors. My Alma mater is too far away to be practical option. I'm an expert in a very in demand field - get quoted in articles all the time but have not been able to connect with anyone in academia.

Went to tech industry for a few years and came back .
It was a startup when I went there
Trained as an executive coach - can only recommend as total game-changer for client relationships (if you don’t mind dealing with their divorces). You need to find a reputable school though as it’s a bit of a Wild West market out there..
OW1 this is very interesting - I’m considering training as an executive coach as well - can you share more about where you received the training, (e.g. any certifications such as ICF?) and in what ways it changed your client relationships?
Not yet, but strongly evaluating pivoting to a relevant yet completely different area or consulting over the next few years.
Nope - outside.
I was a partner at a Big 4 and then started a consulting firm, small startup which i grew to 20 people. Had enough of that and now am Accenture MD as an interim step until I figure out my next move.
What happened to the start up since?
