i’m in a pickle

i have a job where the work is okay, but i cannot stand my coworkers. there’s been so much undermining and rudeness that, even though we’re in a slower slow time, i have so much built up resentment i still don’t like my job.

i also don’t like the permanently remote nature of the job (wasn’t remote when i joined), and feel like im getting pigeon-held into low value work (compliance, provision, fixed assets etc.)

I’ve been an LPN for 8 years, predominately in pediatrics, both in patient and home healthcare. I’ve worked in medical offices for 10+ years before that. At a biglaw firm now, in the final round for a FAANG product counsel role. I just learned that one of the partners at the firm is involved in a big case adverse to the company I’m interviewing at. I have not worked on the case. Do companies run conflicts checks, do ethical walls, etc.? Could this be a problem if I get an offer?

Hi - hoping to get some insight/advice. I’ve been in house at a large private company for a year in a general corporate role (governance, M&A, etc.). I work with the global teams (so it’s a 24 hour job) and it’s relentless—non-legal teams constantly dump work they don’t want to deal with on my 2 person team, but then disappear if there’s something in their remit that I need help with. There’s also just not enough hours in the day to get my work done. Is it like that everywhere?

Applying for some in-house M&A jobs, and a big focus is being able to run deals. I of course feel very comfortable running deals from the corporate side and managing multiple teams, but have obviously always had an army of specialists in biglaw. How does this work in house? I’m primarily thinking from a tax perspective — I likely wouldn’t be able to structure a deal (and don’t think many of my peers could either) since we always rely on a tax team, but not sure if that is an expectation.

Are there any in house entertainment roles that are particularly good? Netflix is obviously FAANG but I’ve heard the culture is cutthroat. On the other end of the spectrum, heard the traditional TV networks pay terribly. Any other options? What about in house music roles? Is that a thing?
