Have any one had a prior experience as an HOA Attorney? I am in the final interview process with an HOA focused law firm and I wanted to know the Pros and Cons? Please any thoughts would be appreciated. That will be my first year associate job out of law school, if they will hire me.

Hey everyone. I found out we are expecting our first child and I’m really nervous. I got into consulting one year ago and I’m up for promotion this year. With timing of our performance conversations I would have to inform I’m pregnant before outcomes - then shortly after the promotion effective date I would go on a leave for due date. I was kind of forced to get out of retail when the pandemic hit so my only option at the time was to jump in to real estate as I already had my license. What salary should I expect for an entry level analyst? I have 4 years of internship experience at places like oracle, other big financial firms. Are there ANY Am Law 20 firms (even 50 and up), where billing 200 monthly is acceptable? Like any? Do tell.

Note: Some am law firms say no billable hour requirement, but that’s only because you bill 3x over.

I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission? Should I hold out for the offer or is 1+ week a sign that I won’t be selected?

If a biglaw recruiter hasn’t responded to 3 emails sent days ago re: my application after callbacks, should I assume it’s a rejection?

I find that some law firm recruiters are very on top of things and quick to respond and some never respond and even have a sour attitude. Can anyone speak what incentivizes internal recruiters to work hard to push placements thru. Would seem fair that if their isn't an incentive that they aren't compelled to go above and beyond

Any thoughts on changing fields of law? I have been actively networking and trying to get a position with an admiralty and maritime law firm. This is a niche field of law and it has been really difficult to break into (almost no job postings and everyone knows each other)any suggestions?

Does it mean anything specifically when a company/firm reposts their position? I went on a phone screen and it went really well (so I thought) and got the interview with a AmLaw200 firm. I thought the interview went okay but then 8 days later no contact and I saw that they reposted the position. I’ve had my position for almost 8 months and I’m ready to leave but that’s another story.
