Is HCL good in terms of WLB and overall projects
What do you do when you work for a company that has been acquired and everything changes? Everything is remote so there is no in person meetings, we are so busy they have taken all team meetings away and have mandatory overtime. We have lost so many people and I feel that the ones that have stayed are not being appreciated AT ALL! They are not providing ANY type of incentive for the ones who do show up and EVERYONE is getting burnt out. I am looking for another job outside of company.Empower Retirement

I have struggled with this my whole career. If I start slowing down, it kills my momentum and I find it hard to pick up the pace again. When the work starts piling up, it's easiest to go in baby steps. Once you have billed 6-7 hours in a day, look at your to-do list and see if you can knock off another 10-20 minutes of work - I promise you will feel better just completing at least one additional task (and you may find that you feel like turning to the next one to keep that feeling going). Or, if there are no short tasks, then tell yourself you're just going to start reviewing the next thing on your list for 10 minutes to get familiar with it. When I do that, I usually find myself getting sucked in and spending a lot more than a few minutes on it.
I was let go from my first BL job for low hours. Trust me, you don't want that to happen to you if you can help it.

Partner was the firm you were let go from bigger than the one you became partner at? I’m thinking it’s sometimes better to go smaller to raise chances of being partner?

Yes - if I get busy after a slow period (especially if the busy is a lot to generally do but nobody breathing down my neck) I find it extremely hard to ramp back up to even 8 billable hour days

Literally killing yourself for these firms is not worth it. Do what you can and that’s it. Stress leads to so many illnesses and firms don’t even cover the healthcare cost so they literally show they dgaf about the associates.
