Hi I am new manager and I am happy to find this group. Recently I hire new person and he looks totally weird. He is asking how many meetings does he need to attend everyday. Or he has to finish his training during a week but he postpone everything to weekend. Because he is from another city I couldn’t push him to be at the office, but I feel like he has side job and he didn’t tell us. I am not sure how I need to manage this situation. They should report if they have second job.

How do you handle micro managers? I’m a second year transactional associate and for the most part the partners and senior associates I work for trust me to get the work done. But this one guy is constantly checking up on me, asking for status of deliverables long before the deadlines he gave me, and just generally pestering me on everything I do. I am going to go insane if don’t figure out a way to stop this.

Hi y’all! Hope this is the right bowl to post this question and get advice. I am dealing with an employer that preaches our values. The owner states that the values are important to her etc yet my manager violates these values and is involved in unethical behavior frequently. Example 1: My manager has told specialists (resourcers) that she will pay them under the table in order for her (manager) to get full credit vs splitfor the placement and therefore (barely) hit her target for the quarter.

My coworker brought a puppy to work, who bit my hand. I ended up losing my temper and yelling at them. Now everyone is mad at me for blowing up at work, even though this is something I shouldn't have had to deal with in the first place!

How should I react to a super disrespectful manager? She had a meeting today and google meet stopped working. Instead of thinking: oh a technical problem occurred she started blaming me saying that I should have created a corrected link. When I told her that was quite impossible her answer was: I forgot you are miss I am never wrong Linksare autogenerated by google meet, if I was able to “create” links and codes I would not have been her assistant but already in the valley making tons of money.

Hi! I interviewed for an HRBP position and the interview process lasted 6 weeks. I met with several people within the company. I provided my salary range in my initial interview and it was in range. I was provided a verbal offer and it was at the bottom of my range. I negotiated a sign on bonus and then the hiring manager said they wanted to down grade the position to a AHRBP with the same salary and sign on. The in house Recruiter called last week that the base will now be 15k less. Thoughts?
