^ You shouldn’t be talking to the recruiter because it’s Cognizant.
Former Cognizant - city doesn’t matter (assuming you’re doing supply chain consulting) as Cognizant doesn’t have traditional home offices. You’d either be on client site or remote and would rarely go into an actual cognizant office. Unsure of manager pay, but I do know that it wouldn’t change based on city.
Base for SC out of MBA is 125 not including signing/performance so you’ll hopefully be making more that that as a manager
SC: you are correct. I have got a hint of that. Mostly going to be on a client location in mid-west. Do you have a sense of manager pay band? I haven’t had a chance to discuss this even once with the recruiter and want to get a ball park estimate before my call
Glassdoor says there managers make mid 80s with a total comp of mid 90s. Wtf. That can’t be right. That’s extremely low. That’s less than consultant pay
You will be in the 120-125 k range
^ really? I shouldn’t be talking to the recruiter in that case. My current base is 140k 😂
P1: I meant the HR from the company.
SC1: that makes more sense. Thanks
SC1 it’s 125k with a 20k sign bonus with MBA.
All the big 4 are at 145k with a 25k sign bonus
Sounds like cognizant pay is much lower after looking at the numbers - not only MBA pay but everything else.
Former Cog here - manager in CBC would most likely be around 140-150. I left as a SC making 128. But then again, nothing at Cog makes sense. Also, if you’re an H1b, expect about 30% less than what I just quoted you
@Slalom: why would they differentiate the compensation based on visa status? In my case, it would just be the visa transfer. Makes no sense
They have leverage. They know you have to leave the country if you can’t find an employer to sponsor your visa. In your case maybe not, since you currently have a job, but there are plenty of Visa holders that will take a cut to stay in the U.S and make more money. Supply and demand
^ My guess would be unlawful abuse of the H-1B system to exploit cheap labor
OP - because they do. Ask around. It’s 100% true.
Cognizant is shit man.
Hi OP, did you end up taking the role? Asking as I have a friend is same situation. Would love to hear your perspective/experience.
