Bain & Company Contemplating a move from Accenture Strategy to Strategy&, or Monitor Deloitte. Part of my consideration is the assumption that WLB is likely to be better than at McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, or Bain & Company. Could any of you fellow European fishies shed some light on the validity of this assumption? Sharing experiences would be highly appreciated.

A six month review is not only for the employer but also for the employee. If I were you I would construct a very professional itemized list of the things that you are happy with and the things that you would like to see improved. If you have a copy of the job description that was provided when you were hired I would take that with you and I would also use that as your itemized list of things that you would like to see improved. I would also provide a timeline for those improvements as you see them. Having been in leadership and trying to grow a firm, sometimes they can’t see the forest for the trees. You need to point out to them the reason that you took the job in the first place and the reasons that they picked you within the job description that they provided. At the end of your portion of the review ask them if that job description, and or their needs have changed. if they have changed discuss next steps.
1. Quiet quitting is just working, but in this line of work that hurts you, not them.
2. Never quit without the next bullet chambered.
3. Apply elsewhere, and when you have an offer leverage it.
4. If they don't blink when you explain that you'll leave if they don't deliver, then leave.

No matter how much I have voiced my opinion on things like have realized that whatever I say changes nothing, and my only role in the company is to turn the crank. I would pursue something else if you aren’t happy.
Walk in with a sales pipeline and how you are planning your first prospect event. If that doesn’t get their attention move on. They probably want an intern.

I would tactfully ask why am I being excluded or have been assigned other tasks. On another note, have you sought the advice of a trusted and candid colleague? I’m asking because I’d first want to learn if I have any blind spots as to why I’m missing opportunities I was hired to accomplish. The person you report to could also be a micromanager in that they do not know how to include others in tasks they were primarily assigned to do.
My approach to being an employee is to have clear communications, objectives, and responsibilities agreed upon with my manager. Sounds like you have none of these. I would normally echo what Prudential says, but I think you already know the answer. The fact that your boss is about to hire his spouse would be the nail in the coffin for me. I would focus on your new job, which is to find a new job. They've not been honest with you and appear to not care about it.
