The two things I can think of when it comes to a review are: What have I accomplished? What is a mistake I’ve made and how did I learn from it?
I think sharing your value will build your case while acknowledging any mistakes you’ve made and how they helped you will show you’re human but also wanting to do better.
If not clear from your performance review, I’d also try to clearly define what’s expected of you to succeed in your role. Maybe then set goals with yourself and keep your boss updated with the progress of those goals.
