Have my i140 approved through previous employer. Current org is processing i140. Any benefit of my paying for premium? Current processing timeline is 6-8 months..does this i140 override my previous one, in which case I need this i140 sooner?

If your priority date is current it makes sense to pay premium. If you are from backlogged country, it makes sense to pay premium if you have lot of spare money.
